6.1 Vortech S/C kit update...

Wow. That's nice stuff. Who knew? did they always have recesses for tools like that? I always did my belt tensioning with a pry bar.

Heh, nothing half assed about using a crow bar, gets the job done just fine. You gotta remember there was less bling back then. Scratching something when leveraging a crow bar off the side of the block against an idler or alternater (yes I've tensioned the belt around a generator too) wasn't as big of a concern as it is now. And a crow bar is one of those multi-purpose tools you keep in the trunk. ...and no one's answered if they even had these indentations for the special tools back a little while ago... whippersnapper.

 

Not exactly. If you look at the pic of the belt tool, you can see the crow's foot wrenches for doing the same thing with the bolt that goes through the tensioner. So there hasn't always been a 3/8" ratchet spot, but there has been a tool to do it right.:friends:

FYI: Drew's currently on his way back from Vortech with his blown 6.1 Hemi SRT8 Charger.

Neither Rick nor I can recall ever hearing Drew utter even a single swear word... when I talked to him this evening while he was driving home to San Diego, his language was dirty foul!

I talked to Drew a little while ago as well. He was stuck in that famous LA traffic, but he was all excited about getting better gas mileage:grin:! I told him wait until he opens her up and all that great gas mileage is going to blow up like RICK on Jason:huglove:. He was very happy and I know exactly how he feels.
