Was at Cal speedway today and ran the new drag radials and the 2nd nitrous stage. had a new pers best of 11.43 with a 1.78 60 foot on a 175 shot. then i got greedy and loaded up 1st gear and BOOM there goes the axle. had to be towed home and on the way the air brakes in the tow truck broke. i think i have had my quota of bad luck today. will have the new axles next week and still have another 100hp of juice available.
Damn - some fine runs!! Congratulations! I almost bought the Nitto DR's a week or two ago, but with my luck, the same thing would happen to me...pop! Even if I rolled out lol... Regardless, good luck with the new halfshafts and even more badass times ahead!!
Nice run..Nitrous + Dr's = broken axle I didn't know the drags were open today at CA Speedway. When did they start, how long was it open, and was it very crowded?
GREAT run man... and welcome to the elite club of snapped halfshafts. lol Milan, if you do go DR's I suggest you get the Micky Thompsons. Much better in the sticky catagory. But yes, get the upgraded Halfshafts first.
Thanks. i went with the mickey thompsons et street and they are great. i drove there with them and made the first few runs with them at 32psi. when i dropped them to 17psi and bang went the axle on the pass side. it was the private track days that alternativemotoring.com puts on. they are limited to 100 cars max and go from 8am-5pm. this was the 2nd one i have done and i love them. there were only 68 cars today and no waiting at all in the staging line. tomorrow sat is the nhra street event at AAA. they can get very crowded with 450 cars. i was planning on going but i guess not now. thanks again x2 on the MT's.......and the axles. i can get a deal on 3 sets of axles for a great price if anyone else needs them. i found the tires for $515 with free delivery and the rims were $200 with the lugs. i was surprised at how load it was when it snapped. for a second i thought i grenaded the intake with nitrous.
