Gentelmen, Had a chance to engine dyno tune a few of the next generation of Hemi engines that will be avalible in your vehicles in the near future, We dyno tuned a 5.7L w/variable cam timing..I can say with a mild tune we had 390+ HP,, With a very highly modified tune we achived numbers close to what the current SRT8 6.1L engine has.. Should be a nice package with the manual trans behind it in the challenger...One of the reasons the 5.7L challenger package has been put off with this engine package is that DCX has changed vendors that produce the piston pins and durability has been a issue..FYI..
Great news Dave wonder if they will do VVT or DOHC on the 6.1 if they never do the 6.4. Is the 390 crank HP on the 5.7?
Don't worry the 6.4L package is currently being tested.. Don't seee any reason why it will not be avalible soon,,Unless gas prices and EPA regulations will effect launch and feasability of package..
Thats why I was trying to figure out if the numbers were crank or RWHP I would think with 370 Crank your looking at 280-290 to the rear
Hemisfear, That is close on a stock factory tune,, we had no problems getting the 390 @ the crank out of it, Also another bit of information is they have raised the compression ratio on this package FYI..
All good news I like seeing DCX finally coming around to getting all the power out of the 5.7 that it has to offer I'm getting tired of all the chevy, ford and nissan owners talking about what a joke the 5.7 Hemi is.
read the post fools, with tuning he was able to hit 390. im sorry on behalf of my fellow members here dave, sometimes they just get a little ahead of themselves
Hey buttjuice....I know what he said as I read it...dumbhead. The question was asked if the power was at the crank or rw's. Sorry, Dave...I apologize for our ambiguously gay and saucy Germanic vets here...:dancinlock:
Ooooooooooooooo a giggle juice friendly compression. hehe Dave, I LOVE YOU MAN!!! lol Thanks for the current updates. Sounds like Chrysler has it going on if we can get past the STUPID Tree Hugger regulations. lol Gas only keeps certain people from buying this monster car. haha
