In 8 short hours I will "FINALLY" pickup my VORTECH Supercharged 300 SRT8!

Rick just called. Ryan JUST pulled into the parking lot near their neighborhood... they are meeting as we speak.

FYI: Ryan does not have his fan settings lowered (he also has the 180 tstat) and Rick was gonna set those for him...

 

Back from a ride with Ryan. The cars pulls REALLY hard....especially at 4k and up you really notice the difference. Wisely, Ryan is still feeling things out and respecting his car. He's lucky he didn't let me drive her. I would have turned the traction control off and launched it at 3-4k out of the parking lot! LOL....probably why he didn't offer for me to drive, A-HOLE!! hehe

His temp was at 200 when I got in it, and jumped to around 210 after getting on her a bit. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but with a blower he should still notice a difference if he lowers his fan settings to around 180*.

Oh...and he didn't stop at Taco Bell....he had In-N-Out stains all over his SRT8 shirt! LOL

Congrats Ryan, your car is a freaking beast....now wait until you change out your bald ass tires!!!!!!

 

Sounds like a worthy investment. Yes, he'll benefit greatly from lowering his fan settings.

 

When I mentioned we should lower them....he gave me a look like I wanted to adjust his timing by 15*. LOL

He is SUCH a pussy! I can't believe he didn't want this done! I'm pulling out of Vortech and within a mile am gonna pull over and adjust those fans STAT!!!

I wonder if adjusting the shift points would be a good idea as well?!?! I saw the dyno charts and she'll still be making mega power past 4800 rpms... thoughts?

BTW: Let Ryan keep his shit HOT... just makes it easier for everyone else to beat him.

 

Why not just have Vortech lower the temps for you?

I believe the idea to be that they tuned it to their specs... what you do from there... well, then its on you...

 

Just talked to Rick... he said she pulls like a SOB around 3000 rpms +

 

As of Monday, Vortech is aware of the importance of lower t-stats and active fans on our rides.
