Did you guys check out the new issue of Motor Trend? They have the Challenger vs. the Mustang 500GT on the cover. Even with the GT being lighter and more ponies under the hood.... the Challenger took it out! Ya Baby!

I don't know what they have in the magazine, but the Challenger runs the same times as the other LXs. Its even a little heavier than a 300C SRT8.

They said they had consistent 4.7's for the -60 times... can't remember what the 1/4's were, just that the stang was faster.

There is a kid that has one (GT 500) here were I live and from my understanding (credible source) he was turning 12.1-12.2 in the 1/4 mile at a private track rental a few weeks ago.......if true, which I believe, that is pretty darn quick for a stock vehicle.

On 4psi I would be concerned about a stock one as well.

I've owned a cobra and will always like the mustang, but would never give up my SRT8 for one. Who cares if you win/lose as long as your a good sport about it and do it "SOMEWHAT" responsible! What the puck am I saying. I want to win all the time. The first loss is just cause to speed more mod money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:shifty:

    for those that asked.....

    straight from motor trend article....

    chally - 13.1 108.3 mph
    gt500 - 12.6 114.2 mph

yes the gt 500 is quicker, but the chally comes out on top "due to chassis tuning, good looks, and "thundering" hemi power!!!" yeah baby!!!!!

I found this interesting about the GT500

this is the Top Gear with the GT500 VS the Roush Stage 3...where they chose the Roush over it as well for similar reasons...the main issue everyone has is....it seems like all the GT500 is...is a body kit and a big engine (which is all some people need haha)

    Chally SRT8 0-30=2, 0-60=4.8, 0-100=11.4, 1/4=13.3@108

    Stang Bullet 0-30=2, 0-60=5, 0-100=12.3, 1/4=13.6@104

I know it's not a GT500, but I'm amazed how fast the Stang is. The Chally is almost 700lbs more, & the Stang has 3.73 rear.

They have difficulty launching properly as most 500hp cars do I suppose. I remember seeing a comparison between the GT500, Z06, and Viper and the Z06 ran a 12.2, Viper 12.4 and GT500 a 12.9.....I thought to myself, who the f**g are these drivers??? Crap, a blind crack-addled monkey should be able to run faster than any of those times lol..

Nice guys! And Road and Track has it too ... 0-60 in 4.7, 1/4 in 13.0 @ 109.7. Surprising since R&T usually has the slowest acceleration times.

Also you guys notice that each of the big 3 car mags has the new Chally in a dif color?? That's totally cool, you ususally don't see that with a new car, they usually all test the same one in the same color and it's boring. Not for the Chally tho! C&D has the orange, MT has the silver and R&T has the black. Very, very cool for Chry's marketing to give out each color for all to see. I WANT THAT BLACK ONE!!!!!! (those pix are sweet!)

My first thought is no way but maybe it is way, I'm curious now, anyone have the curb weights on all the LXs?? I'm been searching but keep finding different numbers. Example, the new Chally in MT is listed at 4137, in R&T it's 4145 and in C&D it's 4189, wtf?? (and those numbers are without driver) Anyone have the actual Chry numbers??

No. However, I remember somewhere, someone stating that the 300SRT8 was STILL going to be the lightest SRT8...
