    lol, speaking of elections.....

this was copied off of wwtdd.com. the blogger has a sense of humor just like mine and totally rips on these idiot celebs making complete asses outta themselves. here is a little tidbit from one of hollywoods favorite morons (not sharon stone).

    _______________________

"Every election it seems the idiot hippies in Hollywood have to make these insane proclamations that they’ll leave the country if someone they don’t like gets elected. This time the enemy is John McCain, and the first one on a private jet to Europe will apparently be Susan Sarandon. The Post says…

She says if John McCain gets elected, she will move to Italy or Canada. She adds, "It's a critical time, but I have faith in the American people."

If this sounds familiar it's because similar quotes were attributed to her in 2004 and 2000. Eddie Vedder, Alec Baldwin, and Robert Altman all made very famous statements about this, and Martin Sheen, Rosie O'Donnell, Matt Damon, Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Asner and Tim Robbins all reportedly made candid remarks claiming the same thing (source). Well la-di-da. Good. Get the fuck out. Move. Go. Go right now. What did you think, that we’d be all sad and shit? I'm sure the class of car I get run over by at 4am with some drunk behind the wheel will decrease immeasurably if all the actors move away, but that’s a chance I’m willing to take."

    _______________________

i too am wondering why these idiots didnt move away 4 and 8 years ago when they said they would. wtf? be honest with yourself and leave.

    lol, yeah heard about that.

"i cant disown him, hes practically family"

    then a couple weeks later:

"i hereby resign my membership in the church ive attended for 20 something years"

like this makes a diff? just because hes getting heat from the people about his crazy church makes him all of a sudden think "hey maybe this place isnt the best to worship". lol, the more stuff i read about the guy, the more i find hes a complete imbecile.

I too am a republican. I was a CEO three times.

I just don't see any relationship between a terrorist attack and the war in Iraq. Can you brigde that gap for me? I see some connection with our efforts in Afghanistan, but I still see no connection with Iraq. And as for it being a spur of the moment decision, I believe that if you will read about modern history, the current administrations efforts to get us into Iraq were anything but a spur of the moment decision. I think you will find that our Iraq campaign was a strategy that was ill conceived, poorly executed and based on a vile series of lies. President Bush should be held accountable as a CEO would be, for the travesties of his administration.

how do you fight an enemy that doesnt have a country? you go after the next best thing. try to advance into their territory and take points close to their strongholds.

i agree with you roy, i think we should have gone into iran instead of iraq, but the military logic in me sees baghdad airport as a def plus in the operations aspect. look at it this way, we already decimated his army in the 90s, we can roll through there in a hurry, build a base, then launch out of baghdad airport against our enemies.

as any ceo, you only act on what information youre given. do you think bush actually goes out and researches this data? hell no, he gets reports, then makes a decision on those reports. we dont know if he was acting on incorrect intelligence or if he was making all this bullshit up so he could get in there to kill or capture the guy who tried to kill his daddy. i think the real people to blame are cheneys folks. the ones he brought in with him to do his dirty work, rumsfeld being one of them. i dont think they made it 100% clear to our president what we were getting into, how we would get out, etc.

i guess we will never know though.

Terrorists are funded in part by Iran.
Iran filters into Iraq, I know, I have seen it.
We already had a foothold in Iraq and destabilized it to certain degree.
We could not afford another Saddam dictator.
So, I/we rather fight the war on terror in their neighborhood than ours.
Not a direct reference you were asking/looking for Roy, but it is the realistic one.

i think roy was talking about pre-invasion iraq. we really did have no reason to go in other than wmd issues.

iraq and iran are actually enemies.

That is the one MAIN reason I am for continuing the war in Iraq... We have not had an attack here in the States since 9/11... This, IMO, is the main reason why. I would rather fund and fight a war for 100 years over there, than fund and fight a war over HERE for 100 years.

in iraq their job is war. my job here in the us is not war. my job is to support our economy, our system, so that when their job is finished, they have a country to come back to.

One of the reasons that Iran is so hostile to the US is that we are the ones that provided the gas to Iraq that was used against Iran.

Memories are long, and past is prologue...not that I excuse the current actions of Iran...but understanding the history is critical to understanding...

I do understand that the history is mainly the only reason things go on to this day. Everything that happens comes from the past in some way. Its all a retaliation somehow.
