I bet there is a truck driver slammin' tall boys and grinning from ear to ear. You probably made his year! Btw I think its at a truck stop in coldwater Michigan. Just a trailer with one car missing now.

    Well - I sold a Porsche 911, bought a Camaro drag car.

I'm buying a Challenger, but then I'm selling the Challenger because I got an offer I couldn't refuse, then I have another Challenger already on order (since December) that should be here by the end of June, and then I have a collector of rare Hemi cars who may be interested in my current record-holding 1 of 200 2005 300C SRT-8's...........

It's been very hectic, and believe it or not - I didn't plan it like this.

I'm assume you will hit the dealership as soon as they open on Monday and wait for the truck? Gotta be a long weekend for ya! I went through a similar "delay" when I went to look at an '06 Jeep SRT right when they first came out. The one I was thinking of buying was supposed to arrive on a Friday, then Monday. When I called on Monday they told me the carrier truck had broken down and would not be there under late in the night Monday or sometime Tuesday. Rather than take any chances of missing the delivery truck, I drove the 80 miles to the dealership on Tuesday and arrived as soon as they opened, around 10:00am.

Hour after hour went by, with no word. Around 2pm I told them to try and contact the trucking company, and I'm glad they did. Seems the truck was stuck at a weigh station, unable to proceed because his rig was overweight. He was going to have to unload a couple of the vehicles and I was told it might be another day! The last thing I wanted was to have my Jeep sitting at a weigh station until the next day. I told them to call the trucking company again and to radio the driver, and to give the driver an urgent message that the Jeep MUST stay on the truck.

Finally around 3:00pm the driver contacted dispatch and said he was less than a mile away. I ran outside, heard the roar of the truck coming a block away, and there it was, last car on the bottom row and so the first to come off the truck.

Now I had never driven a Jeep SRT8, so I was buying it sight unseen. I was standing next to my salesman and as soon as the truck driver got in the Jeep and started it up, I looked at my salesman, shook his hand, and said "I'll take it".

I told them to just do the basics on the prep, and to of course save all the paperwork, and not to drill those front plates. Finally, around 5pm, I was handed the keys. The salesman followed me to the car, got in the passenger seat, opened to glove box and pulled out the manuals. He said he wanted to go over the "operation" of all the features, as is common practice. I told him, don't worry about it, I'll figure it out, "just tell me where the brake and gas pedals are and I'll be good to go"! It still took me another 10 min to get rid of him. Ahh, but the ride home made up for the long, long wait.

I'm sure you will not run into any hitches like I did, your Chally will probably be at the dealership Monday morning. I look forward to your first reports of how you like the vehicle, its performance characteristics and all that good stuff!
