Need help finding the right Cam for my SRT8, I don't want to have to go and change out much in the internals, so I am looking for a CAM that will net me a wittle more power without having to modify much else... Moe
Is that all you are going to change is the cam? While you're in there, might as well upgrade some of the other items. Heck, just pull those parachutes off the side of your car and that'll give you 15 more MPH! Lol!
How big of a cam can one use without having to upgrade the valve springs and all? Simply install the cam and go so to speak.
Spartan cam works nice all by itself. I'm not sure if a valve spring upgrade is necessary so you may want to check with Stu at Inertia.
Moe, I think the time-honored question is due here: 'What are your end goals for the car? Blower? Turbo? Heads? Intake?' If I'm not mistaken, certain cams work better than others with various power adders. Food for thought.
YOU go MOMOITO! Check out the learning curve on this bald, height challenged porkchop................... AND all along I thought all you did was lick the monitor and stare at the pretty colors that reflected off your man filled saliva.izza:
Save your money and go with a cam and head package. Lots more HP, and top end is done..... just waiting for the forged 392 rotating assymbly.
Ah hell ya!!, just remember mo.................once you've had a Cam in ya.................you'll never go back. elvicsmilieys::dancing: Hey Nathan, were you on the 91 tonight headed east around 4:00??......had to be you bud.....nice ride!. :thumb3:
That was me. Just got a Dykstra wash and hand wax Sunday. Where were you coming from? I am rarely on the 91 coming home from work because I only live 6 miles from work (near the Corna "airport") and it is just across town (Behind the Walmart off Ontario in Corona). I got stuck in the wrong lane at Auto Center and had to get on the 91.
Moe (I'm actually gonna contribute here bro, lol!), what Jason said is right on the money believe it or not, what are your end goals? That will help you decide. He's absolutely right, there are better cams for naturally asperated and better ones for blowers and turbos. You want to decide what you're gonna do with your car in the long run first otherwise, like I did with my Mustang, you'll end up backtracking and wasting money (I'd still like to see you with the first every CF cam tho, lol!).
