The metal barb coming from the back of the manifold is loose, any idea on how to get it to stay in the manifold? If it were the hose loose I could just use a clamp.
just went outside to try and make sure everything is connected properly (and it was) but it was idleing really roughly.
are you sure it is a leak from that point???? you can always go old school and get some carb cleaner or wd40 and spray around the manifold to find the leak!!! just listen to the motor idel up real quick, for just a second or two!!! lol
I checked everywhere the manifold is connected, everything is tight. when I cranked up the car the traction control is completely off and will not turn on, and a few other lights were on. Maybe reset the computer?
ummmmm, diablo issue maybe??? not sure if you have a pred or not. at the very least you could try a pcm reset, but normally when the computer has a "hiccup" it clears itself just by turning it off. if you have a pred, try reloading your original tune and then back to whatever custom tune you were running.
I have the predator, but haven't used it yet... waiting on my CMR tune. Which I would already have, but my exhaust was ordered wrong :wallbash:
Ok, reset the pcm..... same result. Started up fine then started to idle rough (like it was surging), traction control went off and got a light with a lighting bolt that is flashing.
Its not as loose as I thought it was, I tried pulling it to see what I could do to fix it but it wouldn't come out! and to get a picture of it I would probably have to take the manifold back off!
The blinking lightening bolt is a is a throttle issue (obviously). It sounds like its re-learning the idle. My car did the same thing after the new cam. Has your battery been disconnected lately? My car lost the TPS signal during the cam swap. We think it was a Predator glitch. We put the car back to stock, then loaded the tune again and it worked. Make sure all the wiring around the throttle body is securely connected too.
would any of this cause the engine to shake? Just tried putting it in gear and the vibration got worse. I've had the manifold off a few times already and this is the first time this has happened.
At low RPMS (below 550 or so), the motor will shake. When you change gears the RPMS drop, so it makes sense. My 112 LSA cam would stall between reverse and first when the RPMS dropped, before it was fine-tuned.
Did as you suggested and checked every connection again. Yes the connection for the throttle wasn't plugged in completely and after that its back to normal. Thanks bro, sometimes two minds are better then one. I really need a garage so IM not out in the direct sun working on my car!
Glad you got it sorted out! 2 gear-heads is always better than 1. I feel for you on the garage too. I'm always "borrowing" my friend's for projects.
jon - good to hear it was minor!!!! how man times have you had that new manifold off now anyway???? lol
More then I'd want too! fighting that thing by yourself is a pain! To top it off I'll have to take it off again! Once the dispute over wich spacers are best is decided!
I have two LX's to pay for, a 2 year old daughter, and my Girl is working on her PhD. I can't afford to be the guinea pig for mods!
