Both stock and ported, side by side:

Cost: $150 plus core and shipping.

    Cost: $275 outright shipped.

noob question, but how much effect would the knife edging and the shaving of the cross shaft have????? i could see having the entire opening enlarged, but just the butterfly??? just curious am very interested in the dynamics of the changes to the airflow....

We'll find out exactly how much power was gained when we hit the dyno in the next week.
Knife edging the blade and shaving down the rod as such significantly increases the cross sectional area of the opening as a whole.
The thing is you can't remove too much material either or the PCM goes nuts and the vehicle won't run properly.
Unfortunately until an aftermarket company (ala FAST, or Accufab) decides to dable into the throttle-by-wire market, this is as good as it's going to get.
My initial WAG would be a 3-5rwhp gain, so bang for the buck wise, not too shabby.

Hey brother, gotta tell ya, been there and done it a couple different ways so far. It will aid in performance. But at cruz, any changes between the throttle position indicator and the map sensor will throw her in limp mode. Even just profiling will result in limp mode. When you go to try this out on the highway, be very careful what kind of situation you get your self into. They'll die at the worste times.

I've had mine on for over a month and 1200 miles or so and no issues whatsoever. The first time I started it after install it idled like it had a serious cam in it, but after a few key cycles it was 100% normal. I will recommend getting an accel recal via starscan at your local dealer ($42.00 charge) after swapping (even to another stock TB), but other than that no issues at all.
