I am doing a test of the Forum Specific banners and I need you guys to tell me if you see a problem. (banners not rotating when navigating outside of your forum, banners not showing up, the whole nine) What is a forum specific banner? This means if we go into a forum like GSM the GSM banner shows and no other, same with all other vendor forums. (NightHawk will have a NightHawk banner and so on) Currently the only one that has a forum specific banner is GSM, because well it was at the top of the forum list and was quick and fairly easy to setup. The reason I am coming to you is to help me protect your interest in the site. You all have been a great help for us thus far, and I want to keep the appreciation for your help visable. you know, i just noticed this, but i havnt seen the banners rotate AT ALL for the last week... All i keep seeing is WebRides's banner..
Noted. I will be balancing out the weight of the banners after completing the forum specific. Now here is a question are you in Firefox or IE? I have Adblock on my firefox (my primary browser) and when I turn it off there is very slow rotation. in IE 7.0 it changes with every page load.
If I'm reading this right. Each vendor forum their specific banner should be above the forum and not rotating? For example I'll use mine: SRT-hookups when I click the forum section for SRT-hookups... only the SRT-hookups banner should be showing on top and stationary not rotating to other vendor advertisement? If that's the case, then its still rotating in the SRT-hookups forum section. I know I just jumped on board but I just wanted to let you know Mains since you asked. I'm running IE and the rest of the forum is running fine on my end with the rotating banners on each page load.

Ok so the existing solution does not really help with the vendor specific banners. However I have coded a good middle ground.... what I need is a 128x28px banner from all of you, I can set those up for your specific forum. If you are interested in sponsoring a forum that is not just yours please speak with ron and he will sort out the details
a new banner implementation will happen in a later upgrade. The issue is there is only one reference to the navbar and banner in the entire site. to stick the rotator in there sticks it for every page. Telling the software not to show on a given selection is well not well liked. To do it cleanly and make it easy for anyone to manage the banner ads is key, if ron or myself were to be MIA and Hal had to service someone, or Hemisfear it has to be easy to manage. I have to do a good sized hack on the code for this site. SRT/C Version 2 will not have these issues I promise :tip:
thats true... what might be easy to me, would probably be greek to someone else..... and damnit mains, when in the hell are you going to get me a banner to put in MY rotation!?
