Ok, I think that I may have found the culprit in this. The first spacers that went out did not come with longer bolts, longer support/alignment tabs or extra gaskets and I was in the first group of folks to get the spacers so I got none of those . From what I understand, the gaskets being sent now are a bit different from the stock gaskets. Can anyone confirm because I can attest that I did see when I took off the manifold that the stock gasket looked to have a little "travel" around the seals which may have casued my leak, thus the flutter/stutter. Are the gaskets being sent with the spacers now different that the stock gaskets?

    Hey Reese!!!!

    Hey Reese
I see you finally got your manifold on!! You didnt tell me about this issue last time we spoke.... and wish you had so I could have told Scott. I do know that the kit comes with new gaskets and longer bolts. Of course GSM is at the mercy of Chrysler for availability of parts. I will check with him......I do understand that Chrysler is going to stock and offer this very same phenolic spacer in their performance catalogue.

Good deal Sarge. If you find something out let me know. In discussing this on the forum, I believe that we may have found the culprit.

Got 'em. I just have to load them up and send them. Question, are the gaskets that come with the kit different than the factory gaskets??

Two times that I have taken off the manifold to check the spacers, I have seen the rubber seals around the ports "travel" and bubble up a bit. This may have caused the leak idea than Ron broached which casued the flutter/stutter that I was feeling in the mid to upper RPM range at WOT Yes, they served their function with my intake being much cooler after driving but I am not sure that I want to deal with what seems now like a leak issue that I have been suffering. I did have to buy new gaskets for the intake back in June when I installed the cam because I had a SERIOUS leak when the rubber seals had basically deteriorated in multiple places under the spacers. Added another set and kept rolling but had that same flutter/stutter at WOT in the mid to upper RPM range came back after a while with them on again. When I installed the new intake, I saw that the seals around the ports on one of the gaskets, although not as bad, showed signs again of "travel" so I took them off. Three out of the four gaskets still looked great so I of course used two of those to install the new manifold. It could be that I am just having bad luck with them. They were professionally installed both times too with me involved in the installation process.
