As the new year comes in, we will be distributing the following components as part of the exclusive distributership deals we have worked out with some of our partners in the industry. The first two are 25% underdrive harmonic balancers. Right now, the only underdrive out there is not a balancer and the only balancer out there is an overdrive. The extra rim on this pulley allows this to be a harmonic balncer and an underdrive all at once. The pulley will be installed on the car sometime next week and we will by dynoing it before and after. The second item is a complete plug-n-play 90mm throttle body that is a modified stock unit. Both items will be ready first quarter 2008 and retail is set tentatively as $299 for the balancer and $449 for the 90mm Throttle body
very cool andy...... not to sound like an idiot (not comments ron) but what applications would guys be recommending these two products for??? can the tb be used with a stock motor with successful gains, or are these items designed for the more highly modded cars?? just curious!! also, i take it by the pics of the tb, a different elbow to the cai would have to be used in order to fit over the tb opening....
We are looking at included a transition pipe for the tb. the balancer can be used on any 5.7/6.1 application with gains across the board. The TB will probaly be worth about 7hp on a stock engine and up to 15-20 on a 426 depending on whether or not you are currently seeing excessive vacume at wot.
soooo even stock 6.1's could see some gains.....ummmm, would this be something that would require the pcm to completely readapt itself???? i can imagine that it would definately have an effect on a tune from a pred if put on afterward the pred?????
Which product are you asking about? Neither will have pcm issues, but the 90mm tb will bring more in requiring a modification to your current tune, but you could do that yourself with the predator on the dyno by adding the correct amount of fuel.
yes andy, i was refering to the tb specifically...sorry did not make that clear...... hehehehe i don't suppose you guys might have an idea what kinds of changes would need to be made to the a/f with the new tb do ya?? hehehehehe once i get my pred from you (you did send it right? hehehe), i may be checking back with you guys on this...... could do this at the same time as the manifold coating and spacers.......

as your engine currently sits, it is supplying energy to the ac, power steering, alternators, water pumps and so on. This pulley allows the engine to send less energy to those components freeing up power. The key is making sure you do not go too low and sacrifice the integrity of the accessories. Once we test this and ensure that everything is still working well, we will begin production.
no worries, i am sure you will take care of it!! also, you were in orlando and did not come to see me?!??!?!?!?! man, i feel so un loved now!!! hahahahaha andy, when you get back and check into my pred, also let me know about what tweaks can be done safely with the pred with the addition of the larger tb. i am very interested in knowing what you come up with.....

ATI is not making this unit, we are working with a company and will be testing this over the next few weeks and plan on shipping as early as first of January as long as everything works ok.
No problem, what would you like to know? Basically, the stock TB was the donor and from there, it was cut apart very carefully and a new tube was welded in place and a new butterfly valve was fabricated. From there, strict measurements were followed in order to make sure there wasnt any extra air coming in at idle which is what causes limp mode on the dual tb intakes. Our new engine builder is responsible for building this and they do all the testing of new parts for Dodge and also build the engines for dodge motorsports nascar division. They have dodge techs in their facility everytime I go there testing the latest and greatest. Dodge motorsports is a seperate division from mopar so I am in no way saying that we are working with Mopar, they are a totally seperate entity. Did I mention that we also have rockers in the works
so you were able to machine the mounting flange to 90mm,and the factory intake need to be bored to 90mm to take advantage of it.
The test results were without port matching, now we are port matching and can probaly get another 2-3 hp out of it.
that was my next question as to the port size difference between the stock manifold and the bigger tb. soooo, port matching will only get another 2-3hp??? interesting..... sounds like i would not be too bad if i did not port the manifold then.....something to think about....
how is it getting more air if it still needs to go through an 85mm hole?Sorry if I sound like a PITA but I am very interested in this.What were the results before the porting?
on a stock engine, 7-9hp was achieved. On a heavily modded vehicle, 15+ was achieved. The stock intake might be 85mm, but that 85mm opening opens up pretty quick. Its pretty easy to bore that out, so that will be the next test. No worries, you are asking all the right questions.
