How does that work? I know that every insurance company that I've dealt with you're automatically covered for 30 days when buying a new car. But what's the coverage? Is it the same as the policy you have on your current car? Let's say your current car is really old and you've dropped your coverage to liability only... then what?

I think part might depend on if you financed it or not cause the bank is gonna want FULL coverage on IT'S car. If you bought it outright then IDK but if there's any financing going on the bank will cover it's butt. I'm trying to remember what I did, I think I just showed my insurance card to the dealer and that was that, then when I got home I called my ins co and put it on my policy ... I think.

I'm pretty sure it's like Dave said, you're covered for 30 days on new car purchases (and that's gotta be fully covered). I'm too lazy to look up my policy right now but that sounds familiar. And Stevo, yea, there's a good bet it's dif state to state.
