They run ballpark of $2k. I've never installed them, but Erik (Hemi31) has. He did a nice write up and has even changed them at the track.

No, they can't. They all have mods "x, y & z"... I catch ONE break, and they're bustin my ballz.

Mission accomplished. I PM'd the dude and told him that just FYI, I'm not looking for coilovers, but you should know that your price is WAY cheap.

    See! I have a witness!

Adam, I've gotten conflicting info on this. I've been told time and again that your axles are safe so long as you don't run DRs.

You serious? These cars are based on the last Benz platform... aka: all around performers. BTW: Rick's car is able to keep pace with Evos. Seen it myself... with a few mods, these things can be dialed in.

That's wrong. A few people have broken axles with stock motors. I damaged one of mine about a year ago.

The issue is sudden loading (torque) through the stub. That can happen on stock tires when you spin then grab hard or if you go through a dip and they grab on the far side. Adding torque mods just makes it happen faster.

There are 2 reasons that we're breaking axle stubs. First, it appears that our axles were hardened in a way that makes them brittle when compared to the R/T stubs. The other issue is that the axle itself has shallow splines and doesn't fully engage the hub.

Besides, how are you going to get all that power to the ground without DRs or wide sticky tires? Otherwise, all you're S/C is going to give you down low is more spin than you have now.

    Thanks for that info.

Half shafts... good Lord... now I'm screwed. Coilovers, Sways... now 1/2 shafts. Shit!

Some are running high HP/TQ motors w/o upgraded 1/2 shafts, right? I'll have to wait, obviously and be fairly cautious... especially off the line. I don't do burnouts now (tires aren't cheap), so maybe I'll be safe for awhile.

Plus, in order to get wider tires, I'd need wider wheels... no can do right now, either.

I totally agree ... up till I drove my maggie thru my favorite twisties for the first time, I was like ... HOLY HELL THIS THING HANDLES AWESOME FOR A TANK!!!!!! And that was stock. Then doing the TE and driving all the SRTs around Laguna Seca convinced me some more and finally reading how to a tee each and every person to do a track day with their SRT8 has done EXCEPTIONALLY well and shocked the heck out of the competition finally convinced me ... our cars do just great road racing!!

Totally agree. It wakes you up to what these cars can do... although for the most part, it was a VERY controlled environment.

No car weighing 4000+ pounds is a true drag car.

Heroin, coke, meth, etc. are called narcotics. MJ is called dope because is makes people 'dopey' (slow and stupid), like that elf.
