I'm sure there are a few different ones out there. The one I saw was an "Edge" I think... I know Bullydog makes one as well. Maybe one of our fine vendors can hook you up.

He said he would, but I will see how it looks behing the black grill first. He said there's always a chance of peeling and flaking. Don't want that.

Let's see... you've got to sell your Predator and CAI before you can cover the credit card bill for the blower. You're probably going to have to forget about the custom color gauges. If you're lucky you'll be able to buy all the sensors. I'd just wire all the sensors to a kill switch. Anything goes above threshold and it turns the engine off. That should work.

Drew, how much boost is this system putting out? I asked this in another thread but I'll ask again here, is that aftercooler really needed?? I understand all about boost and heat and the benefits of an inter/after-cooler (have a Paxton blower on my Mustang) but when running low boost there's not that much heat to deal with so I'm wondering why it's necessary?

John? Really? That is AWESOME!!! Congrats!

BTW: a guy on LX has the Vortech and is running 4.6 lbs. boost. Gained 116 rwhp and 104 rwtq.

I've heard our stock engines are good for 6 lbs....

Thanks John. 5 lbs doesn't need any type of cooler, what am I missing? Is our compression ratio too high, timing too much, what am I missing?? Seems to me that cooler is only slowing down the incoming air and at 5 psi how much cooler can it possibly get to where it's a benefit. Hmmm, don't get it, don't get it at all ...

See my post above. Right now, its 4.6 lbs. Who knows why it is what it is... but Vortech themselves are installing and tuning the cars... they must have something up their sleeve.

its probably a combo of things. I think they are trying to keep it as safe as possible to avoid issues like another vendor had. If they are truly getting 115+ RWHP off 4.5 pounds thats not bad at all. I always prefer to stay towards the safer side. Since we know we have issues with the top ring lands and heat might as well make it as cold as possible and avoid the danger zones. Plus I think this kit has the potential to be turned up a bit. I spoke to the guy there about possibly switching to a T trim once I forge the bottom end and he said we will talk :)

I'm just wondering Jason, I do have some experience with superchargers. Just seems to me with such low boost you really don't need a cooler and being that this is a big company out to make a buck like all companies are that maybe they're pushing this thing on us is all. My 2 cents.

Nice post John, I agree all the way around. And yea, 115 hp especially at the wheels from only 4.5 psi is A LOT, must be some tuning stuff in there too to get those numbers. I agree, safe is good but that thing is so dang ugly and the boost level is so low I'd rip it out ... but that's just me, lol! BTW, does Ron or anyone else with a blower have any kind of inter/aftercooler??

(and remind me to stay clear of SD, ALL you guys are blown down there, dang!!!)

General rule of thumb is 14psi = double the HP........so 115 for 4.5 psi is about right.

As far as engine compartment looks go, I could care less, honestly... however, I like the look of the Vortech. But once again, I got the satin finish (not the polished)... save the $400 and put it towards something else in the future. I'm more interested in the performance and quality than the look... and this blower will perform and be reliable, fo sho!
