not really supporting the scammer here, but its really frustrating to find yourself in a situation like that as a seller, I know thats why I stopped selling my books on half.com I had a buyer purchase two books out of a set of three books I had from a lit class that she claimed she had sold to someone herself but the post office lost them so thats why she was buying mine, to satisfy her sale... Well, lo and behold I send her the two books and mine get lost too. I shipped them with certified mail which gave me the tracking number and the books appeared to be lost at a sorting facility two towns away! I didn't want to issue the refund because I did send them out, as the tracking number proved... but she still got her money back through half (eBay) because she never received them.... I went through a lot of paperwork to try to at least get my books back, and all I got back from USPS was part of the package with my shipping label on it. Never again! --Russ
That can happen but I'm surprised that DHL has such a huge hole in it's tracking system. You can use their software to optimize your scam. You use their software to print a shipping label, with tracking #. You list the mark's name, address and weight of package. DHL enters that into their system! Then you go do the DHL dropoff with a minimum sized package to save shipping costs. You change the label to some bogus address or Stevo in East Cupcake, NY with the same tracking number. The information associated with the tracking number is never updated when the package is actually shipped. Bingo. The mark can track the package that still shows his name and address and the original weight while the system shows it on it's way to East Cupcake. This can help you get by the 60 day limitation on credit card disputes.
While I feel bad for you, cause that has to suck, The scammer in this instance has scammed two people at the same time.....and it's not his first scam. People are coming from all over to give any info they can... Sadly, I've been reading this thread since last night.....
