woohoo...I thought weldcraft was in FL for some reason...it's only like 45 minutes away from me in the Detroit area.. They also widen stock rims at a place called the Wheel Shoppe and that's a lot closer but it's on 8 mile. As in "8 mile Road"...ugh. Both have been doing rim widening for a long time. This is going to be a before race season mod for sure. Thanks again for the scoop Chris.

no worries milan. a member on another forum hooked my up with these a long time ago. i had heard of weld craft early in my charger ownership from either lxf or chargerforums...... either way, they do very nice work and my wheels spin true. i do run 3mm spacers to keep things from rubbing on the inside, but get some good ones like bones ent. sells, and you will still have a hubcentric set up and no vibrations. i know the cheapy spacers i have do vibrate a bit, but the bones oned are smooth!!!

I heard Bones closed up because of a nasty divorce or something. Anywhere else you can get the spacers? With spacers and 315's, won't the tires on outboard side extend beyond the fender itself? My ride is a SRT8 Magnum. Do all the LX's have the same inner fender well dimensions?

as for bones shutting down. i just had a friend recieve some spacers from them last week????? as for they sticking out, they do not . they will sit flush with the outer edge of the fender.

    Chris:

Glad this thread came back to life because I was looking at putting 305 on the rear with some aftermarket 10" wheels. Since your wheels were widened 1.5 inches, you effectively moved the center of the wheel over 3/4" (19mm) toward the body of the car. Am I thinking straight that you basically turned your 25.5mm offset into something like a 44.5mm offset and it is the high offset that would cause the bigger tire to rub the inner fender?

I guess to ask in a simpler way, do you think a 10" wheel with 25mm offset and 305/35/20 tires on a car lowered about 1" would rub?

I plan on installing the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta SUV Tyres with the below specs. What size spacers would I need and how much can I expect to pay for some? I understand I'll have to widen the stock rims to 10.5". What's the biggest I should have my stock rims widened to?

Those tires will most likely have serious clearance issues on a charger. I am running 275/315 combo on mine but it has a lot more clearance than the LXs have. I would make sure they will fit before you order them.

The sidewall height is "almost" identical to the stock 255/45/20's. The stock sidewall is 4.5. These are 4.3.

Rick, post #2... Chris said there might be clearance issues too, with KW's. I'd like to get this done myself... in about 6 or 7 mont... I mean years.

I understand I'll have to cut (meaning John, Ralph, and Adam) some the inner wheel well to make it fit.

Weldcraft quoted me $275 a wheel, and that is for any width extension up to 3".

Another question. Since the 315's are 12.5 inches wide what SHOULD I widen the stock rims to for optimal performance/safety?

I am getting mine widened within the next few weeks and am intending on running 305 Nitto 555R's so I'm hoping that takes care of my degraded traction lol..

guys, 1 1/2" will be all you want to go wrt widening. rick, the 315 WILL work, i have personally seen it on a charger BUUUUUUUT, it was stock hieght, and the inner fenders has some SERIOUS mods done to work!!! the guy was only running 5mm spacers if i remember correctly. you have to modify more than just the plastic to the inner fender well!! to go with a 305 or 315, you must also do some cutting/welding of the inner fender well of the unibody structure. not an impossible task, but one that does require some effort. as for spacers, obviously the more spacer, the less modifying of the inner fender well. i have a 6mm spacer currently, and could easily go to a 10 mm spacer f i wanted to. running this much spacer would likely allow me to run the 305 / 315 without much fender well cutting. problem is, 10mm of spacer makes for shorter thread length on the lugs which is bad.

unless you want to do all the cutting, then no.......

what i would do though, is run a 6 mm spacer, and a 295/40 in the rear on a widened wheel!!!

Yes but the 555RII's are made for drag AND road courses.
