Ted/Jeff, Question(s). I'm scheduled to have a Vortech blower installed in my Charger SRT8 in early June. I'm thinking of adding some gauges, A/F and Boost. Your A/F gauge, PN: P4510599, I like the gauge, but noticed that there's one available with a white face with the mopar "M" logo... can you all get that? PN: 4510426 The same question for PN: 4510420, can you get this one? I just like the design... but will it work for my application? Also, are there any other mounting applications available, other than the pillar gauge mount? Just curious. Thanks for the help.
He'll claim to have gotten "permission"... but we all know he opened up a new CC account behind her back!
Dude! That's just wrong! I've already got an additional $200 built into my "family-loan"! EVERYONE who has gauges has a-pillar mounts. I want something more 'old school' looking... something on the column, center console, middle-upper dash... Just examples:
MoMo, These are NOT wide-band A/F gauges, are you sure you want this? If you do, then we will be happy to send you the pricing info.
Looks GHEY!!! Oh...and your car is a 2007 with a blower. I don't remember ANY old hemi's having blowers!
Ted, The part numbers I provided, one should be a boost gauge, the other an A/F one... if not, I'm dumber than even Quick thought! Basically, I'm looking for an A/F and Boost gauge, both mopar, white faces, blue logo, that'll work w/my car... whatever PN's those are... I'll let you experts take it from there! Thanks for responding, BTW.
Thanks for the honest opinion... I know most old school cars didn't have blowers, but they did have additional gauges, outside the typical console ones. These were often aftermarket and were placed either on the steering column or center console, among other places... that's the look I'd like. My thing is this. Visually, my car is as stock as stock can get... I want to keep it that way (I don't necessarily want to shout "600 HP Car Here"). Pillar mounts announce to outsiders: "look at me, I've got a blower!" OR they seem to say "look, I've got the same pillar gauge mount as that Ford F150 and that Honda Accord". Everyone has pillar gauges. I want something different. Seriously, and please for anyone who has a pillar gauge, don't take this the wrong way, but every beat up, 4-foot-wing-laden ricer has pillar gauges... and because of that, pillar gauges, to me, CAN say: "potential poser here". I don't want that. If I have to settle for it, be it design or cost-effectiveness, I will... but ideally, I'd like something different. BTW: Those pics were for reference only... I'm not too fond of their design, just ideas of placement. Those are badass, but they're 'loud' (see 'announcing' of HP above).
Saw those white with the blue logo when I was checking for some earlier. They look nice and clean looking. You should find some silver ones w/the blue logo.
Momo. There's actually a reason for pillar gauges. They're up there at eye level (or pretty close). You just glance a little to the left instead of going from looking out the windshield to glancing down into a totally different backdrop and hunting for a gauge that's probably got some fairly small indications on it. Different lighting, different back drop, different focus, then you got to hunt for it and read critical information displayed in a very small area. You could put them up on top of the dash but then you look like a low rent poser who couldn't afford the pillar pod. Also don't forget these ain't wireless gauges. If you want to go discreet then do the JMatt mount up in the sunglass compartment. When not in use you can close the door and not even the wife will know they're there.
(cough, cough...) I've never thought anything like that :erm:. But notice there are no numbers on the display gauge you were looking at. Maybe for narrowband sensors?
True. Dave, your wisdom shines through again. I understand the need for the line of sight issue. I also am really interested in seeing the JMatt mount. Does he have pics around these parts?!?! Funny, jerk. 1. Sarcasm noted. 2. The gauge you're referring to... that may be the case.
I do. (You must have missed my wideband install (epic) post?) It's the same gauge you were referring to. Actually you cited the part number for the sensor kit. A gauge like that might be better for you... no confusing numbers. If your foot's down it should be in the RICH zone. If you're just cruising it should be in the STOICH zone. If you see anything else you should immediately turn the key off. :stars:
I did some googling and didn't see anything like that... would be nice, though! Actually, even replacing the sunglass holder... never used the dam thing anyway! To be honest, I had to run to the garage just now to see if I even had one of those! ... I agree, the less confusing, the better! Although, David, I do know that 12.2 is just about perfect A/F! :thongue2:
The pics work fine for me... anybody else? I wonder if there is a way to move selected posts to a different thread. Now that we've completely trashed Ted's forum.
