Hey guys, I'm heading to the track tomorrow with the new nitrous set up. Will they let me run if i don't have the blow down tube installed? Another thing i could do is set something up between me and the bottle, like a little wall.
Not really. That's the whole point. You need the nitrous to vent outside of the driver compartment in the event of a failure.
It really depends on the track that you go to. I know that the tracks I go to in Va. seem to be really strict on the tech rules. However, when I went to MIR and Cecil County with the BWoody boys the tech guys never even looked in the truck at all. So according to the rules yes you have to have a blowndown tube, but there are alot of tracks that you can still run at without one.
If you cant have one installed by tomorrow you can try to get away with it.But be ready for a disapointment..My track says yes ..
Any idea of how long it takes to get them installed? I'm going by the shop that did my nitrous setup tomorrow to have them top off the bottle, maybe they could do it then...
As for a "hole" in your Jeep... You should have plugged drain holes back there, under the carpet. Just route the blow-down tube through one of those. (That is, unless the tube's diameter is too big???)
To be honest,I never installed one in a Jeep but I guess it depends on where your bottle is installed..I did mine in about 10 minutes
