when gas hits %5, $6, or $7 per gallon it means less people on the road and than I can drive faster.. :thongue2:

but made conscious decision years ago to have my "daily" commute be within 30 minutes.. my worst day is 20 when stopping for a 6 pack on the way home..

but we are being taken to the cleaners and our elected government officials are standing by doing nothing... there is plenty of raw oil for consumption.. but in the US, especially CA over 50% of the refineries are closed for maintenance.. hmmm less capability to produce... articifical supply issue... and on top of this we need the special blend because we are bunch of environmental pussies... and cater to the hug a tree foundation and hollywood types..

couple this with the fact that the middle east will charge a fee to store their product.. their goal is to pump and ship it... oil co profits all time high... yeah we have an oil shortage... don't look at the reserves in Wy, CA coast and Alaska.

and in Europe when they often increase the taxes they funds are directly used for transportation purposes like keeping the roads in good shape .. unlike here when the states and fed rob the gas tax and put it into the general fund so we can pay for the education, welfare and health care for all who come here to live ...
