I received this email from an Atlanta dealer today. Unbelievable!....... Please let me know if you or anyone you know would like to own our last available 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in Silver. This Limited Edition will be sold before it arrives at our dealership and is one of 5,000 Models in the entire world. It will have an MSRP of around $37,995 and a Selling Price of $20,000 over. Most dealerships that I have spoken to in the local area will have theirs priced the same. I can be reached directly at 1-800-IMA-GREEDY1 (off Tuesdays and closed Sundays) to set an appointment. There is a $5,000 non-refundable deposit plus all of your paperwork being done required to ensure ownership of this vehicle. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to earn your business. LOL I don't want a Charger so bad I'll pay $20k over sticker just to get the first year of the new model. I'll wait until the 09's are ready & buy it for $3k under sticker
Sounds like this is a white collar con to me in all honesty: PRICE FIXING I would copy this and send it back to her with the post script, "Nah, I'll just wait and get it for 3G's under in 6 months. Thanks for your effort to screw me without the nice dinner". 20000G's over MSRP....:stars:
This thread was a violation of forum rules: Non-vendor shows up blatantly for the purpose of sales only. Normally I'd delete it, warn the poster, and maybe even ban it. In this case, the post is so incredibly foolish and makes the poster look so bad that I think I'll leave it here to show the world how foolish and greedy some dealerships are.
Some dealers where getting $15,000 over on 300C SRT8's in SoCal. I heard of one asking $25,000.00 when they 1st came out. Most where getting $10,000.00 over. I paid $3,000.00 on mine in Phoenix in Sept 05.
I took delivery of one of the first 10 SRT-8's, if not the very first, placed into private hands in March of 2005. I paid sticker. And rarity? My 2005 is one of 200 to private individuals. A "limited run" of 4,000 units or so is laughable. I have two 2008 Challengers for sale. If anyone wants to pay me $20,000 over sticker, feel free.
Dealers charge what fools will pay...my dealer has two $5,000 deposits for the 2008 Chally at $20,000 over...one of those deposits was made almost 2 yrs ago...the guy told them when he made the deposit that he didnt care what it cost and even what color it was, he just wanted the first one they sold....heck, if I were a dealer I wouldnt have told him to go away..
i THINK my dealer has 2 guys who want the one SRT Challenger they are getting and they claim that its going for $70,000+ lol...could be BS but who knows lol..there are some rich (and dumb) people up here that have nothing better to do than buy things just to say they have them....
Ahhhhhh hahahahahaahahhaha!!! I might let them do that too if they really want to pay me $20,000 over sticker.....
I Hope The Car Doesn't Sell And That Dealer Goes Out Of Bussiness...They Tried That Bullshit With Me In Vegas Trying To Buy A Srt Jeep. They Wanted 10k Over Book...Or Sell A Dealer Demo With 17000 Miles Curbed Wheels For 50k.. Good Thing Don Came To The Rescue

I thought that others woud appreciate the ridiculousness of this as well. Based on the responses I believe that I was corrrect- it is entertaining! I do agree with your assertation however-"here to show the world how foolish and greedy some dealerships are." as it is my point exactly. Well done!
