Had a neon green Lotus Elise roll up next to me then stand on it. I just let him go however the light ahead turned red. He was first in line at the light with a car next to him so I had to get right behind him. Sure enough light turns green and he is on it he chirped his tires shifting into second and third. I jumped on it and proceeded to drive right past him. He tried not to pass me again after that but had no choice as I was turning and he was going straight. He looked over at me gave me a big grin then acted like he was hiding his face out of embarrassment. I gave him the thumbs up he was pretty cool about it. Best part of the story is the car still had paper plates it was brand new and the driver looked like a teen whose rich dad had just bought him the car. I think I burst his bubble pretty bad...
I test drove one and man they are noisy and definitely a racers car not much comfort but fun to drive reminded me of the cayman s
A guy bought one where I used to work. They're hard core. He was kind of tall (but not that tall) and had to have it modified so his head didn't hit the soft top.
my cousin has an extige, thats the hot one. the elise is pretty darn cheap you can pick one up for around the same price as a loaded nissan.
Not sure which one he had now.. 155mph top end. He used to park out with us in the hot/exotic car area next to my Magnum. I'm not sure his roof came up over my wheels. Driving one of those things around a track at speed must be an incredible rush... sitting on the ground and everything.
Kind like a scateboard with a motor...lol......I have only seen one in my area and it was a pretty cool looking car. Good kill.
I see one or two every week around here. I agree they are actually pretty cool cars for what they are made to do. The poor kid should have known better, they are not made for straight line acceleration...
its actually pretty tough to tell the diff between the two what with the ability to modify the exterior. the easiest way i find is with wheel color and the rear spoiler/kit of the extige. if you pop the hood, the extige is supercharged i believe. be careful though, its a monster under there....1.8L of lawnmower power.
I have actually seen one here in Windermere. Has to be the same one, not many of those in whole world let alone Orlando. I know better than to mess with that thing.LOL
My friend John owns the Noble. It is, indeed, bad f-ing ass. I think it's 800 HP, and weighs about 9 lbs. LOL He'll probably be bringing it by Jemfest (7.12.08) in Orlando. He likes it when I make drool puddles around by the back fenders.
dan - funny story!!! hahahaha although living in the hoity-toity area of orlando like you do, seein these kinds of cars is common place!!!! dahahahaaaha
LOL!! I have said it before and I will say it again I am the one house that the whole neighborhood is embarrassed about :tooth:. Unfortunately what you said is sad but true though. I see something exotic just about every freaking day driving around here.
theres a guy at work that has a 05' STi as a DD, a brand new GT3, and a Exige S. he is a pretty big guy and it hilarious to see him try to get in the exige. damn software developers... rich bastards.. anyway, those cars look like a lot of fun, but definately wouldn't have to comfort factor.. the kid prob went home, locked himself in his room and listened to some EMO after losing to a jeep. lol and about the nobles.. sexy cars.. there were a couple noble m12 gtos running around when i lived in detroit..
I believe he does. He's a "work friend", so most of our hanging out has been at the event I put on in Orlando. I've not been to his house, but I do have his address around here somewhere. His name is John and he's 100% business/100% of the time. If you do get the chance to speak with him, all it will take is 3 words about the Noble and he'll drop the business front and become a HP geek like the rest of us. Yeah- the Noble is NOT his daily driver. It's difficult to get in and out of (no matter your size). He loves it though. It is a pretty badass ride.
Nobles are only sold in the US as shells. You have to modify it to run a Ford/Chevy/etc. motor and drivetrain.
UPDATE: I talked to my friend John and found out that his Noble is no more. Some bim in a bigass SUV rear-ended him at a stop light and beer-can'd the frame in the car. He's currently shopping around for another "thriller".
Nice kill! A guy in upper westchester was revving at me with an elise when I had the Jeep last year, needless to say he became a very small speck in the rearview. No contest.
