Well... You end up with more hp than without with both of them.

What about turbo lag? You guys have turbo lag?

but they're waaay back there with the cats so they can't be all that big and there's all that tubing to get back to the manifold right?

Haha, Steve's going to have to write a document to get all this straightened up.

And Bud, with a turbo there's all that tubing, gauges, exhaust gas temps, vacuum leaks, valves and springs and you name it. With a SC you got a big ass belt and a pulley. If the pulley is turning the thing is working.

A really good friend of mine who is a mechanic and has owned both types of FI said the same thing. I just need to figure out the cost difference and risk vs reward between all the different setups.

Ive had both types also. twin turbos on my s4, single on my a4, built a few import hondas and acuras, played with quite a few super chargers from screws to centrifugals. I like both and like Goat said both are more HP then you start with. In this case though I would lean away from turbos do to the huge amounts of heat we already generate and even more with turbos. Its all just opinion though cause you will find people that love and run both. :)

    Real men have SCs.

Besides, think about when you're showing someone your car. With a SC you pop the hood and people go "oooh, wow". With a turbo you have to jack up the car say "you can see a little bit of it sticking down over there".

[I hope Steve gets on here pretty soon to end this]

turbo without a doubt is the way to go for our cars. i just cant find enough reasons to go with roots over a tt setup. there are just too many positives with the turbo (mpg being one of them).

My motor rebuild project started out as forging a few parts so the twin turbo I was going to put on would not blow the thing up... although supposedly these motors have been safe with them on.

Then I wound up going totally NA with a stroker and by the time that was done the treasure chest was fully plundered. If I win the lottery I'd love to put on a TT... and half shafts.

One thing though... With a NA motor the car goes VROOM and with a blower or a turbo it goes FWEEEEE! I saw a guy once selling weatherproof speakers you hang under your car that make badass exhaust sounds. Maybe that'd fix it. :D
