As you know most insurance companies exclude vehicles involved with drag racing. I thought I was covered as I have a special "Show Car" policy. So here is the problem, I have full coverage as a daily driver which includes liability, collision and so on. When I tried to get a "drag race event" coverage our agent said they will not offer it. He then called another underwriter (K&K?) and they say they will cover the vehicle for all racing events but not as a daily driver? my next question was to have the vehicle insured by both companies. he said that can't be done. Is this crazy or what? Does anyone know of a underwriter that will offer coverage for both Race and daily driver?
Will the show car insurance cover it for drag events if it is not your DD? Just saw something on the speed channel where they cover show cars for full value, unlimited miles, etc. except that you have to have a different car as your DD. Maybe buying a beater to call your DD might open up more options.
http://www.northernthunder.com/insurance.html I had no idea that your basic car insurance coverage will not cover that nice trailer you are using to tow the beast. Read the entire thing Brain its long but full of great info
i thought we already had this sorta thread... isnt JMatt the owner of Nationwide near him?...i thought he had something you could do...
Michigan has some oddball insurance rules. But just ask for a policy from any of the big guys: State Farm, Nationwide, Allstate. Look for exclusions. I'd bet they don't have an exclusion for racing.
