    I've been debating whether to do this or not, looks like I'll probably end up doing some time this week. For those of you that have this setup is there any reason why I shouldnt get these tire sizes. What are the pros/cons about them? The popular response I got from all the tire places that Ive called said to get the proxes st, which Ive seen several members running these tires? Are there any other tires that I should look into? Looking for a good summer performance tire. I also have the bwoody sway bar links and I've heard of these tire sizes rubbing against them, any info on this would be appreciated! Dont know to much about tires and what brand to get any help I can get would be great! Thanks.

    There is quite a few choices for the 315/275 combo. Most guys are switching over to get a softer ride than runflats plus the more aggressive look with a wider tire. Here are some options

    - Toyo Proxes
    - Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas
    - Michelin Lattitude
    - Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport (regular)
    - Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport (runflat)
    - Dunlop Sportmaxx SP

    Thanks for the response...but that the thing Ive looked into most of these tires, I just dont know what one that would give me the best overall ride? I guess it could all be a preference thing on what band people prefer, but Im not all to sure on that. First time looking for a performance tire so Im new to this...

    I have the Toyo Proxie S/T's and like them tremendously. There have been some balancing issues with some members "CentralTexasHemi" not being able to get the Toyos to balance out and had them returned....maybe he can chime in or PM him on the details.
    People have mentioned that the Toyos are hard to balance.....I must of got lucky because mine are very smooth. If I had to purchase again, due to the potential balancing problems I may run another brand.
    No rubbing or negative comments and I also have the Bwoody links.So far so good with the Toyos

    Somebody here had that problem. Last I remember there was some question as to whether he had the links installed correctly. Apparently they are supposed to be installed asymmetrically?

    Yes, the Bwoody links do not install the same as stock ones. In the back they go on the outside on the driver's side but on the inside on the Passenger's side. I got them installed and have no rubbing with the Michelin Latitude HP.
    Michelin costs more than the Toyos or Vredestein but are a high quality tire that have a standard type thread design, wich I was looking for.
    The 315 rears measure a full 13" wide for that FAT look. Here is a pic of the 315 Latitude vs the stock 285 Goodyear

    I absolutley HATED the Toyo Proxes S/T. They are a hard compound with a stiff sidewall.

    I've had 4 different types of tires and none of them comes close to the Vredesteins I have on now.

    I took the Proxes off they were hard to balance and a hard tire, I went with the Michelin Latitude HP's in the big size 275 & 315 and they are a much better ride but you pay for what you get. Michelin has always been a good TRUE tire, this same tire is on my Porsche Cayenne and has rode smooth for 18,000 miles and so far on the Jeep has been great.

    Well I ended up getting the 275/315 combo in the Toyo Proxes. I'm going to run them in the summer months, hopefully I wont be let down by these tires. But seems like any tires besides the stockers are better. Might look into running the michelin latitudes hps for the other months I dont have the toyos on. Should be getting them on tomorrow, try to post pics of the setup

    Stock Goodyears on the Jeep are 255/45 front on 20x9" rims and 285/40 rear on 20x10" rims

    Any comments on tire weight compared to stock? Have the larger tires affected the suspension performance? How about speedometer correction? Does anyone know if the speedo is pulling info from the front or rear wheels?

    The difference is negligible. I haven't noticed any difference at all in handling/performance but the Bridgestones ride soooo smooth:worthy:

    Stock Goodyears: Front = 36lbs Rear = 40lbs
    Diameter = 28.1"

    Bridgestones: Front = 37lbs Rear = 41lbs
    Diameter = 28.6"

    Stock Goodyear's diameter is closer to 29", so the 315 set-up is actually a little lower changing effective gear ratio from 3.73 to around 3.78, providing slightly better acceleration. Total change is about 1.4%, so speedo error is minimal reading 71 when you're really doing 70 mph

    Hmm you are right. Tirerack has the wrong diameters listed. The Goodyear site shows the front = 28.7" and the rear is 29.0"

    Is there a setup that fits that is just smaller than the 275/315? I'm not tire expert and I know our AWD wants certain ratios.

    I think a few people have gone 265/50/20 and 295/45/20 but the sidewalls are taller.

    You could get the Yokohama Advan S.T. in 305/45/20 rears and 275/50/20 fronts that are 30.8" overall but like I said thats a bigger sidewall. Here is a pic of the 265/295 combo which is ~ 31"

    I think you can put almost any diameter on you want but you want to keep the front and the back within 5% of each other? So you sort of want to keep the tire diameter difference between the fronts and the backs under 1.5"

    Yea, I'd just be careful WRT the AWD system. My dad had an Audi and my bro a Subaru and the awd systems on those cars didn't like different size tires at all.
