Sorry, but I needed to post this in a seperate thread as it is a MAJOR break through in the WK Platform. This is our very own, BJB (aka Brian), launching his Jeep. In case you have not seen Brian's build thread, here it is as well... http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1061
YOW! That would be the first SRT with the front wheels off the ground?:salut: ...is that good or bad? you kinda lose the AWD advantage. Maybe a tight wheelie bar is in order?
Close but no cigar. I suspect he could have adjusted his super suspension specifically to do that but... too late now.
Actually I was at the wheel that run.. that was a fun ride. It actually instantly went into limp mode after the wheelie which means it goes directly to third gear and wont go higher than 5400 RPMs. Needless to say in limpmode it ran a 12.3 at 107 :king:
Dammit, I've been beat by almost a full second by a Jeep that went into limp mode off the line...
Actually I don't think I was that close. Gremlins have still prevented a full nitrous fire off the line. So maybe someday is still posible. We did jokingly talk about building two different front shocks. One with a shorter rod length than the other. It would have created an artificially unbalanced situation, and one wheel would come off the ground. It woulda been a great photo op, but in my opinion it would have been dishonest, so we didn't do any more than laugh at the idea.
