Do you need to remove the lifters and pushrods to swap out cams? Or can everything be done from the front of the block?

The stage I is based off the Comp 268. I wasn't sure about the stage II, but that's good news since I'm going to upgrade to this cam someday when I get the stage II heads.

Hey Curtis...how do you think the stage II package compares to the HHP 426 package. I took a ride with Josh in a 426 car and man that thing pulled real hard and kept ya planted there. I was real impressed with the 426. Unfortunately I'll never be able to afford the 426, but was wondering if the stage II is pretty close or not. It appears their pretty close times wise(within a few tenths) so I'm guessing the stage II pulls real hard up top also.

When you look at the power some of the 426's make, in terms of HP and TRQ, that is a big financial commitment for 60-70 horsies. Once the bugs are worked out of the supercharged applications, you'd probably be able to see nearly double that power made from going with the 426 on top of the Stage II with the 6.1 block. You'd have to forge with the S/C as well though, so it would be close pricing anyways. The new S/C applications coming out do look promising. I do understand what your feeling about keeping things NA but what 426 runs better than an 11.5 currently? I think you can count them on one hand. Food for thought C! Or you could always forge and go 426 and supercharge it later after some of the more daring guys provide their experiences. Hal's setup should be complete soon I think.

The 426 car I was in is Captan Pal's car(a black 300SRT8) that's has run at E-town lately. Josh has had it at Cecil County dragway and I think its best run so far is 11.5/11.6. Josh had a 90MM TB on it for testing and it appears this is worth some more power and maybe a couple of tenths at the strip once its tuned right. The 426 is a BAD motor, but like Milan says its not a night and day difference in power and torque. For the money they cost, I'm not sure if it's worth it or not. I'm sure the forged internals are a big part of the cost. As you guys all now, PPP's 426 car is the fastest 426 out there, but its not a full-weight interior car and is also running a higher stall than most people have.
