I just got my confirmation on Thursday, I am really pumped up for this. Again I'll be there on the 25th of July. Etown.

Awesome! I wasn't sure if it'd be in there later on down the registration process. A friend and I are looking to go to either the Fort Worth, TX or Memphis, TN track experience. Most likely Texas if there is still an opening.

We're both really excited, I've been looking into it since they started doing it, but never have.

    Thanks again for the help!

Every time I get a confirmation it says I will be one of 75. I'm assuming that has to be the maximum per location. Does anyone know if that is per day? I hope not, cause that's alot of asses to put in those cars in one day.

I bought my car new and the dealer never even mentioned about this to me and I lost my chance to go.

Yea, that's about right but it's not as bad as it seems. They'll split you up into groups (3 or 4) with each group doing a different event at the same time. It's a full day, don't worry bout it, you'll constantly be doing something, it's great!! Man, trying to drive that Viper in the SRT Shootout was one of the hardest things I've ever done ... and funest!!

Yes, I think that's max. I wouldn't worry about it though. They are VERY professional and it's super organized. They break you into 3 groups with 2 or 3 leaders that stay with the group, herd you around, explain everything, get you preped, etc. There are 3 "modules" -- performance drive (race track), auto cross, and a sort of mirror race course auto cross with a tree start and very short straight into a short course (vipers!). So if there is low attendance you might get a ride or two extra around the big track and a few more turns at the mirror race. Extra rides around the race track would be nice. You wouldn't be too bummed out about missing a couple of extra turns on the mirrored course. The auto cross is sort of fixed at best time out of 3 tries I think.

At Laguna Seca they were sending out a lead car and two cars to follow. They had maybe 2 or 3 groups on the track at any given time. You'd go around 3 times. Once we sort of got stuck behind a slower group for 2 laps. I'm not sure how many were at that event... Scott could probably tell you. My "bad luck" was being paired with someone on my first turn on the track that we had to wait on... They tell you that if you want to go faster or slower just tell them when you come in and they'll pair you with someone else next go round. I think my case was so bad he didn't even put me back in line and I just jumped in a car in the group that was leaving. But that didn't have anything to do with the number of people there.

I think most events have at least 4 modules tho but it depends on the facility you're at. At Laguna Seca there's not much room to do anything other than race on the track so they could only set up an autocross course and that shootout thing in the paddock area and that was it. I think bigger tracks like Fontana will do 4 modules but they vary on which ones, at least that's what the website says. Regardless, there's no idle time, you'll be doing something all the time. Personally, I was just thrilled to drive ON Laguna Seca Raceway, my all time favorite track and an experience I'll never forget ... even if it was raining, lol!

So, a friend and I have registered for the Forth Worth, TX event in August. It says we are on "the waiting list" it also lists my status as "waiting". Is this normal? I don't want to get stuck not being able to go if I don't get a yes or no for the Texas event until "7 days before". I plan on giving them a call to make sure on all of this, but just wondering if the waiting list thing is normal.

    Thanks!

In late Oct of last year (07), I bought a dealer demo with 1700 miles on it and thought I was going to get to go but, of course with my luck, they said NO but could pay the $500 if I was interested and surely can't afford that! Very Sad! Because it's coming to Charlotte, before I knew I wasn't eligable, I was very excited!

Dealer demo? Was it titled? Sounds like maybe the dealer used the TE instead of passing it on. Write to the TE guys, tell them you think you got shorted and see if they can do anything for you. Maybe worth a shot. Better yet call and talk to them.

Thanks guys, I got a card in the mail today with the info.
You will pilot the full range of SRT vehicles, including the 600hp Viper. Etc.
You guys never mentioned a catered breakfast and lunch! Why not? That is important to fat asses like me. The four modules are Autocross, Full Throttle Challenge, Advanced Car Control, and Performance Drive.

I guess the next step is getting there and doing it. I will let you know how the food is when it's over. Lol.

    Thanks again guys.

Food was very good. Breakfast was more elaborate than lunch. When I had it they had dropped the "Advanced Car Control" module. That was the drifting. They said more than 80% of the people couldn't do it and never even started to get the hang of it so they dropped it in favor of more time in the other 3 modules. I did some Viper "drifting" in the Full Throttle Challenge anyway. Haha, the cones didn't count. You just had to not red light at the tree and you had to stop in the box. When you drive the Vipers (that module only) they have an instructor ride with you to coach.

"Ok, bring it up to about 3K and when you launch keep the revs up and modulate the clutch to keep from spinning. Keep accelerating as fast as you can to the first corner and when I tell you, get out of the throttle completely. No brakes."
    "Good, good, LIFT NOW"
"Oh, oh, umm, I think we're off the course"
    "It's on your left"
    "we're off the course"
    "Now it's on your right"
... at this point he lost it and was just laughing...
Me:"The cones don't count right? I think it's better if we just keep our foot in it"

Outcome? VICTORY! That idiot Scott had spun himself around backwards and made the fatal mistake of stopping completely to recover. We might have covered a bit more ground but we got to the box first. (We had to review the rules after I got in).

Yea, sounds like the dealer prolly used the TE for one of their sales guys BUT ... I say it's worth the $500 to do it anyway! Go if you can, you'll have a blast guarenteed!!

If you're talking about ME there Mr. Wizard then I must correct you ... I NEVER SPUN ANY CAR let alone a Viper!! I pride myself on that Mr. Brain, I think you're thinking bout yourself, didn't you spin one??? Hahhahaha. My prob was stopping in that damn box, remember?? I couldn't do it for the life of me, it was quite embarrasing, lol, only ... not as embarrasing as losing to you in the Caliber tho, I was undefeated till then!!! :thongue2: It's ok tho, I've forgiven you. :huglove:

BTW, stop talking bout the stupid instructors in the Vipers will ya, I STILL have headaches bout that, lol!! "STOP, GO, HIT IT, BRAKE HARD, TURN IN, LOOK OUT THE WINDOW, GAS IT, STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPP!!!!!!!!" It was like, here dude, why don't you just drive!!! One of the most irritating things I've ever done no doubt.

I think they contract all that out so if it's a different system it could take a little bit to get over there.
