Actually, if you take the car off the road for 3 mths and keep fire and theft on it...(I paid 8 bucks a month), drive the beater in the winter insured without collision...you'd save on not having to pay for gas for the 8, cheaper gas and insurance for the beater..and well you get to have fun in the snow and slide into snow banks and stuff lol.
Actually Curtis if you pick the right car it's really cheap to do. I have an 89 Legend that costs less than $200/year to fully cover AND reg is only $64/year. Some older little Hondas can be even cheaper and get great mileage, that's what I'd do Markus ... or the carpool/homotown thing that Momo said.
