Vortech is soon to release new supercharging systems for 5.7L/6.1L Hemi V8 Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. Tuner kits are available today. Complete systems are planned for release in May, 2008. All Hemi systems will feature the new V-3 internally lubricated supercharger and will increase horsepower up to 45% with a torque increase of up to 38% estimated at the flywheel.

The new Vortech V-3 supercharger has an internal lubrication reservoir that does not require a connection between the engine oil pan and the compressor gear case…no oil lines. This precision-engineered unit features a uniquely configured transmission housing that allows for effective gear lubrication and bearing temperature control. It includes a remote fluid drain hose that allows for simple oil changes without removing the supercharger from the vehicle.

The integrated dual-pass air/water charge cooling configuration features a closed loop water cooling system with a stand-alone pump, tank and front mounted heat exchanger. All components needed to bolt the system to a stock vehicle are included, such as aluminum mounting brackets, replacement injectors, DiabloSportâ„¢ hand-held programmer, compressor bypass valve and all required fasteners.

Satin or polished finish is available. The system is compatible with factory OBD ll engine management. A 3-year/36,000 mile powertrain limited warranty is available. Suggested retail price is $5683.95, but we'll be running a special for you guys! More info to follow or PM me if you can't wait!

50-state emissions certification is planned. Currently, these systems are legal for vehicles that may never be used on public highways, off road use only.

    Thanks,
    Lisa.

Wow thats nice plus cooling for these high compression engines is a must, hey are these being made vehicle specific to fit in the engine bay. I'm glad stuff like this is coming out but I always worry about the stock internals, transfer case and transmissions just how much can they take?? I guess for now its trial and error

Yes, these are custom-fitted kits for proper fitment in the engine bay. To cool the air temperatures even more, we'll be packaging the Vortech systems with a water/methanol injection kit.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...im going to have to consider this (for down down the road...maybe in like 2 years or so)...

now..my question is...do i have to beef up the engine for this puppy or would i be able to put this thing without forging the bottom end?...

I always suggest going forged when adding FI why not be on the safe side, forge it all, pistons, retainers, pushrods, crank, throw on a dampner and beef up the tranny, not sure how much torque the stock driveshaft can take or the rear end?

Forging is always a good idea with FI applications of any kind. Having said that, you can run FI with a stock motor, but the key is the safe tune and not trying to reach maximum power of the supercharger or turbo as those units will be able to blow the motor at their maximum power level. So, if you want the most power an FI application can produce, you better forge and play it "safe", but you sure can bolt on a supercharger or turbo kit and have a good time with a safe tune and power level.

Looks awesome...but like any supercharger in existence, tuning is always the key here. The tune has to address the needs throughout the powerband, at part and wot throttle. Then I would definitely go forged as well.

As all have said tuning is key and you can never "over build" your engine.
One thing to keep in mind is this system is different and far superior IMO from the S/C systems we have seen in the past. First, it is deveolped directly by Vortech, not some thrid party putting off the shelf parts together to make a kit. This stuff will be designed and manufatured by Vortech specifically for the LX platform Secondly, it will come with Diablo Tuning and larger injectors, no piggy back, Aux Injectors or Unichip stuff. However, just like any F/I or Nitrous application, We highly suggest a Dyno Tune once the system is installed. The tune from Vortech will be good but not as good as a CMR or SCT tune can be.

Will we be able to get it minus the predator but with their tune? I know the majority of us will already have the tuner itself...

I can definitely put a package together without the Predator, but let me see what I can do for getting you the tune. Would you have a local tuner you could take the car to for a true custom tune, or rely on the Predator only?

are you guys going to do any tuning/dyno work or are you just going to do installs?

That's a good question, lol. I'm planning to get a dyno here at the new shop (I have a buddy with one a few hours from here we can use until then), but I am a BIG fan of SCT as we do a lot of SCT tuning on the Ford side. So, I'm waiting to see how the SCT HEMI custom software goes for a bit and hope/plan to go that route once we have the dyno.

I haven't gotten an answer from Vortech yet on whether or not they will put together a package like you're asking for ... but I was just thinking about it, and if they won't do a custom kit like that, maybe what we will do is set up a Predator buy-back program. So, if you get the Vortech kit that comes with the Predator, we would buy back your canned tune Predator. It would be pretty easy actually ... once you get the supercharger kit installed, just flash your car back to stock with your old Predator and then flash with the new Predator for your supercharged tune. Then just package up the old Predator with any box and paperwork you might still have and drop it in the mail to us, and when we receive it, we'd send you a check/paypal for the buy back amount. Would something like that be helpful?

    Very helpful!

Now as far as MoMos post about how they can do this for 1200 less then the i-charger...It comes down to these guys have been making kits like this for way longer and they have it down. Plus they know they are not the only ones on the market so they are offering them at reasonable prices...Also you have to consider that its 1200 less and you dont have to buy the extra 3000 kit for this one. SO its really saving you 4200+. Oh yeah and nothing against the Icharger, cause so far I love the design but still want to see the insides of one, but this is a product that has been around for a long time. While not on our cars but still.

    This is great news!

Can it fit on a Jeep?
