If I reading this correctly then I'll answer Yes to this. I can enable the autostick upshift with the original TSB flash that was done by DCX. I've done it a couple of times, but end up disabling the upshift since every time I spin the tires the tranny short shifts into 2nd and bogs down. I'd rather hit the rev limiter than have this happen. Disabling the upshift made a world of difference in my car since I can spin the tires very easily out of 1st gear.
becasue at the time, there was person after person swearing on what a great combo the two (tcm flash / B&G) were!!! for everyday normal driving it did behave nicely, but when it came time to get spirited and smoke the tires.....well, then things kinda sucked!!! :thongue2:
paxton - i think dave was refering to the original flash the 06' cars had from the factory...... that, i am pretty sure, did not jive with the pred as far as the autoshift options.....
You know I think it was prolly your comments the most on the OC that kept me from doing the TSB and I have to say ... THANK YOU!! I just got the B&G and moved on, never looked back, love my car EXACTLY how it is. Funny cause I think it's either people like the auto upshift (which I can understand) so they like the TSB or they don't and they hate the TSB! All personal preference.
I spoke to Josh at HHP last week and he stated there's some CMR tuning that can be done with the TCM that's not been done yet. Supposedly it'll just about get rid of all the torque management...he said it should shift like a motha. I'm not sure I want to try this programming out on a DD, but we'll see.
scotty - i love the auto upshift aspect of the flash, i just do not like how it behaved under sprited driving........ normal driving habits, the flash was good, but for those of us who like to burn a little rubber and drive the car through a good sideways burnout, then the flash sucked nuts!!! of course, this is just my uninformed, humble opinion!!! heheheheehe
this could be a bit tough on the tranny!!! hahahahaha i am waiting for the tcm support to come out from diablo!!! tweak line pressures, manipulate stall speeds as possible, and address the responsiveness of the programming to make it more crisp and sporty!!!
Honestly I'm not sure about all the details for CMR programming for the TCM, but it sounds like stuff you're describing. I'll be at HHP next week hopefully getting my ProTorque installed so I try and get more info from Josh on this.
I have an '06. The main reason I had the TSB done was to be able use the Predator to control auto upshift in AutoStick, so I could use the Predator raised shift points and also prevent me from hitting the rev limiter while I was trying to time my manual shift to the rev limiter. Before you could not have auto upshift in AutoStick. Now I can have it either way auto upshift or not. Make sure you tell the dealer your car has a sluggish shift from 1-2. Obviously you don't want to tell him about the Predator.
I'll tell you what my problem is! Stevosrt8 is for dragging me into this forum! LOL.. My car is in limbo now, its still in the shop. Maybe I should have taken a poll on this issue. The problems werent really noticable at that track, it just seemed doggish off the line. During normal hard driving its as if I'm not getting enough fuel at higher rpms in 1st and 2nd. It seemed to shift early also, I wasnt spinning tires either. Like it had a mind of its own. The only tune I ran with the predator was the 93 CAI tune. It looks like I'm stuck with the update!? Which is better for launching- old or new?
The TCM update was the worse mod I ever did to my former 06 SRT8....in fact, the guy that bought it ordered a pre-updated TCM from the Mopar Super Center (on my advice) and was amazed how much diff it made.........dang stupid update..floor the car at 26MPH and you were stuck in 2nd....before 2nd didnt come till about 45 MPH....:getlost:
The previous owner had the TSB done on my car before I bought it. The Predator has allowed my to disable the autostick upshift, but I didn't realize not being able to kick the car down above 25MPH was part of the TSB update. Anything above 25MPH on my car and she won't kick down into 1st which creates a huge dead spot between 25MPH till about 40MPH. I wonder if this can be changed by CMR tuning or not in the future. I'd love to be able to at least be able to kick it down from say 30-35MPH.
so is the downshift the only downfall to the update? this shit kept me awake last night, wondering if i hindered the performance of my true love.
