Forgive my stupidity but why is it when you suggest putting non forged wheels on a SRT people act like you kicked Jesus in the balls? Are cast wheels really that crappy. I dont go to the strip. Probably will once just for fun but I am not really worried about weight. Please educate me.
Forged Alum wheels are typically lighter and stronger than most 2 or 3 piece chrome wheels, basic tire math tells us that for every pound you lose in wheel/tire weight you gain back 6-8lbs of rotation force which could get you moving quicker, now as far as kicking Jesus in the balls once Ron is done assuming the fetal position he can chime in-LOL
DW gave you the BEST possible reason WHY to use forged. That and if you go with a 2 or 3 piece (rather than a 1 piece), if you get ANY blemishes whatsoever, you fix the piece that is bad instead of replaciong the entire rim. And Wade, :bottom::gtfoslap::harhar::moon::moon::moon:
Don't need curb feelers, I need for idiot ford drivers in tampa to not run me off the road! The viper rim isn't from my car.
Guess that depends on if you like them or not, but honestly there are several forged rims that look very similar to those.
forged wheels come on the srt and to put a non forged wheel is taking a step back in many people's minds...... i could not find another wheel i liked better than my stock srt wheels.....especially after i did my famous "legmaker mod" to them!!! hehehehehehe
you mean you ripped off the 2008 wheels even though they werent out yet when you did it? DAAAAHHAHAHAHAAHAH
I'd get what ever your comfortable with. If you get an extra set just have on it then whatever you want. IMO you get what fits your needs. If its for all out balls to the wall racing then get the lightest you can buy. my 2 cents
Their are a lot a great looking rims out there but I really do like my stock SRT8 rims, although, I kinda like this one I saw...
well, if your not concerned with weight, then go for cast wheels. it's just that a majority of members here are concerned with weight when doing performance mods and hit the strip, so weight is a major issue. go for it, imo. good luck - jimmy
