so i was at the drug store today. started the car, put it in reverse, backed outta my spot, put it in d and it stalled......okay. put it back in p, start it back up, put it in d and it sits there and rev's as if its in n. okay. put it back in p, waited a couple seconds, back into d, same thing. wtf. put it BACK in to p, turned the car off, waited a second, turned it back on, let it idle for a few seconds, put it back into d and away i went. this isnt the 1st time this has happened to me but its the first time i remembered to document it. anybody have this happen? i can sorta understand the stalling, probly need a lil better tuning but why wont it go into gear?
Not sure about that one Markus...but the stalling is probably due to your tune. Whenever you get a chance you might want to have Josh tune your car for ya.
oh yeah, im getting a cmr tune from josh for sure. not the stalling im worried about, im just wonderin why it wont go itno gear
Its never happened to me thank god, but I've heard it happening to a couple of other people. I'd like to give you some real input on this one, but I'm stumped.
my car stalled out once (when i first got it) when i went from R to D too quickly....sometimes it will like shake a little bit if i do it to fast... i think our cars just dont like that lol
psh you got steve talking to you so i figured i'd add more useless information to the situation lol but i think i have seen this general question (probably back on the OC)...but the general idea behind the thread was...you confuse the computer when you switch gears too fast and it just craps out
err, I don't think so... It's got protection to keep you from droping it into drive while moving backwards so I don't think it's "confused". I get the impression it does that by just not telling the trans to shift. Definitely shouldn't have anything to do with your engine stalling. But what tune do you have at the moment? anything? There may be a bug/hole in the programming or changing torque management? haha, didn't say a dam thing either, but it sounded better didn't it?
im using a b&g stage 2. the car was definately not moving when i put it into d. maybe im shifting too quickly?
markus - the computer is just having a bad day....... not a real scientific answer, and no where near as articulate as daves, but it really comes down to HAL just having issues at that moment......
hmmm thats weird markus. mine wouldnt shift out of first. LOL it would have like a brain fart or something. i pulled the BAT fuse stopped doing it. maybe your car doesnt like you anymore! or gays! lol
Your PCM/or Tcm is smoking dope during the night. It freaks out when you shift it in a way that it feels is too rough. Remember, it's your car, your baby... not your mosquito pole. By turning the car off, it's resetting itself and back to normal. I would also check to see if there's any leaks by the tranny, since it also doesn't like not using enough lube. Hope I put it in words you can easily understand Marky. ;P
thanks guys, from what i gather from your responses my car smokes drugs and im a gay idiot. sounds about right! jk, thanks guys, she'll have a cmr tune before she's back on the streets. oh and curtis, i dont have a pred so theres no changes other then what b&g gave me.
never smoked weed in my life. dont have a predator because i got my tune before the predator was a gleam in the lx communities eye. i will be getting my cmr tune via a predator sweetheart. we can email tunes back and forth just so i can get your email address and send you naked pics
