The first prototypes, shown for the first time last week are already installed on my car: I received the prototypes on Friday, via overnight UPS. I spent until 1:00AM installing them, and went racing Saturday. Here's my car sitting still right after my burnout, but before I was staged: And here's the car right at launch: Can you say weight transfer success!!!! The car rose 4", shifting approximately 1600 pounds off the front and onto the back tires. Now the good news/bad news. Unknown to me, I had blown a fuse in the nitrous system and the nitrous never fired. (That's the bad news). The good news is, the weight shift shown in that picture is the result of the horspower of a virtually stock SRT-8. That launch photo is based on a car dynoing at 400 pounds only. No nitrous. Nothing. Intake, headers and a catback. 170 degrees engine temp. We are testing some revisions this week, and I hope to test at the track again on Thursday.
I'm sorry, I just don't know. I can tell you this though, the project is suddenly moving forward pretty quick. After the learning process on the rears, the front development is seemingly easy in comparison. I will be making a special pricing offer to anyone buying a set of rears before the fronts are available. (The discount will be retroactive to ALL StreetRaceTech customers.) And, existing customers will have the rights to purchase fronts from the first production run.
HOLY Fing sh*t Matt. That is FANTASTIC. If you would have launched on the bottle, the front tires would have lifted from the ground. Congrats... And what was your time? lol
My times were HORRIBLE. When you are tuned for nitrous, and it doesn't spray, you run pig rich and have no prayer. On one run stage 2 fired, but only during part of the run. I got a 12.14 out of that.
what where yours sixty foots? great more stuff to buy.hahaha matt this set up will also beable to auto x with right?
Sadly, my best 60' was 1.80. That's what happens when you set up for nitrous, and not a single stage fires. I did run 12.40 on ALL MOTOR with a virtually stock SRT though.
Ditto. I just hope enough people buy this set up so that they continue to make them by the time I'm ready lol. Probably have to wait until the winter with the coin I just spent lol.
I can't remember if you PMed me a price on the rear's! What do they run and are the fronts going to be compareable in price to the rear's?
Hal - I just posted some new info after today's activities: http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?p=121390#post121390 You seriously would not believe how nice my ride home was. People need to drive my car now. It's that good.
The rears are $1089. The pricing for the fronts isn't out yet. Because of all the extra fabrication work, I was afraid the fronts would be a lot more expensive. I was concerned they'd be in the $1399 - $1499 range. Don't hold me to this, but I think the fronts will be pretty close in price to the rears. Maybe $1099 - $1199. But that's a wild guess still. Even AFCO doesn't have final pricing from their suppliers/fabrication people. Heck - we just finalized what size all the hardware needs to be about 5 hours ago this afternoon. But progress is coming fast!!!!!
