Finally got my intake back from the powder coater. just want to give a HUUUUGE thanks to freedbird (marc) for warning me to take apart the belly pan of the intake before install. the amount of grit and debris was amazing!!!! also need to give a major thank you to john (draggin wagon) and howee (howard) for allowing me to make this happen!!! john did a polished manifold from howard and they both were kind enough to let me borrow johns cores so my car would not be down!!!! to make matters worse, the powder coater took twice as long as he originally said!!!! here is a crappy pic of the grit in the manifold..... here is before (8:30 pm) here is my oldest learning the ropes..... gotta teach em young!! here is what is going in..... yeah, i have won a couple of trophies!!! hahaha of course i had to do some of the work..... yikes, what have i done???? "colby, did you drop that bolt down that square hole????" here is the final product!!!! (10:30pm) all in all, pretty simple and straight forward. i took the sled out and thrashed it around for about an hour afterwards and all is well!!! did notice the manifold is a little cooler to the touch after the driving, but other than that the car ran just as strong as before. next is painting the washer fluid bottle next weekend!!!!
thanks guys...... yeah larry, my son has turned into quite the car freak since my purchase of the charger...... maybe this kind of hobby will keep him out of the trouble i don't want him in!!!!
10-4 on that Chris...mine turns 18 this year and has been a dream kid...never been in trouble........I kick my wife sometimes just in case...:bigwink:
Wow, that looks great! Manifold looks perfect. "debris"? Did you say debris? You mean residue? got a better pic of that? You know... if you painted the washer fluid bottle, the side of the fuse box, and the front cover on the motor.... I think the effect would be even more stunning.
dave...... no, no.... debris!!!! residue is little stuff left over.... this was actual large scale grit, sand, and other "stuff" left over after the sand blasting..... i was shocked at what the intake looked like when i cracked it open!!!! thank god freebird pm'd me this morning!!!! and yes, i will be doing the washer bottle soon, changing the billet tech pieces to black with the designer edge, and doing some black braided hose like talon did.
That looks like total crap Chris! I personally like the dirty stock look under the hood! LOL Looks incredible buddy!!!!
sweet...thanks burdda... i saw the "SRT" thing and was curious to see what you did to that lol im going to be taking my heatshield off to fix it up (milan...are you reading this)....make it look purdy again after the DC STB lol
what happened to yours???? as for the letters, they are a funny story that dates back to the early days of the district..... long story short: vendor offers letters for hood chris orders, as well as many others chris waits for over a month chris finally gets letters many others get nothing vendor drops off the face of the earth chris finds a new source close to me chris starts hooking folks up left and right..... update, source has since got the dreaded letter from chysler to stop doing the letters and other mopar oriented stuff with any copyrighted logos!!!!
