There's a lot from Canada bro! Other great musicians, great beer, you build all our cars there ... and the Mackenzie bros!!! You hoser! What's insane about YYZ is that it's a hard enough song to play but to think they THOUGHT IT UP!! That's what kills me. That and watching them play it live. Last couple tours have been phenomal and watching Geddy and Alex talking (seriously having a conversation) while playing that song is just crazy!! I know they've played it a million times over the years but still, come on! They're awesome. Now to anwser Tamara ...
Wow, that's some strong emotions you got there girl, some deep seated anger. Hate x4?? Actually, I think this doesn't make you any different than most females out there, Rush tends to be a guys band. I think they probably have like 1 female fan, lol! I could go on and on about how great they are and we could argue till the end of time but I will say I understand your opinion of Geddy Lee's voice (that's the lead singer's name), heard that a thousand times over. Some people must like them though for them to still be going strong after 30+ years. Besides, there are other singers out there with odd voices too, a lot. It's all personal opinion I guess which is why I can say ... I HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE COUNTRY MUSIC, ALL OF IT!!!! :harhar:
Well, I have this musical ear thing, where certain things, like tone deaf people singing or bad American Idol contestants is like being stabbed in the ear OVER AND OVER again, Geddy Lee is one of those. Not that he's tone deaf... but hearing him makes me cringe and writhe in agony... so yeah, don't like it. And I'm not a complete Nazi, Marc has a whole collection of Rush CDs and I haven't touched them or thrown them out or set fire to them. :happy:
Yuck Tom Jones? Doesn't he sing, "Everybody wang chung tonight!" in Vegas? ....another older hard rock band a lot of girls don't like (although less so than Rush) is AC/DC. I love em, my wife can't stand em... Another good Canadian band is the Tragically Hip. I like to listen to their lyrics...Wheat Kings is my fave...true story about a man convicted and jailed for a murder he didn't commit...
