interesting this should pop up. ordered something non car related like a year and a half ago. something that should not have been on back order for so long. forgot i ordered it. yesterday i get an email saying "hi, it seems your product is on backorder, would you like to continue with the purchase?" im like CANCEL THAT $h&*! then i get an email saying "oh yeah, you cancelled it in march of 07." then i thought "if one of our vendors had pulled this, theyd be outta business by now" a good example of no communication, followthrough, or anything customer service related really.

there are only a few things that bother me about customer service in the automotive industry.

    1. don't treat me like i'm an idiot. yes i'm female. that doesn't mean i have the IQ of a 5 year old and the automotive knowledge of a rock. if i ask you a question, don't answer me in small words and in a condescending tone. that makes me want to hang up and never deal with you again.

    2. if you're going to sell a product, have it in stock. there's nothing worse that buying a product and then finding out that you have to wait three weeks for it to be ordered and shipped out. this seems to be especially a problem in group buys. if it is going to take that long, tell me before i order. i don't mind waiting when i know that it's going to happen. i'm going through that right now on a gb and it drives me nuts.

    3. be honest. if you don't know, say so. i don't mind if you have to find out the answer and call me back. but don't feed me a line of bs because you think you can.

    4. call me back. if i leave you a message, get back to me. that's not so hard. or if i send you an email, write back. that's just common courtesy.

i love how some companies are too cool to reply to your emails that have anything but "i want to buy" yet they still find the time to put you on their annoying mail list

WOW, you guys are really feeding the thread with information. Thanks.

Well, except that MoMo character AGAIN! lol

    1) Communication is the first step, IMO, to EXCELLENT Customer Service.

    2) Knowledge of product is another.

    3) Quality of product

    4) Willingness to understand the customers needs and wants... <<<Huge!!! Most will sell you everything even though you don;t need or want it!

    5) In-stock availability. See #1

    6) Timely order, ship, and receive

    7) Pricing

    8) Communication

Keep them coming guys. Don't worry if has been said alreay, this is the gathering of information so that anyone who deals in sales can see what most or ALL people view as Customer Service...

I will start another thread with some twists later on.

Customer service is when the customer does everything correctly the first time and doesn't blame you or your product for their fuck-ups.

Communication is the key for me...

Even if you cant help, at least tell me cant. Or get back to me at least. I made a call to a vendor, and man the service was amazing. They did not know hte answer to my question immediately but they called the company, got me an answer and called me back. BUT they called me quickly after discovering the vendor they were calling was having computer problems to let me know it would take some time to get an answer to the question.

    SUPER SUPER SUPER service.

its taking the time and care to know my name and remember who i am...... not easy, but the companies that remember me by my first name and take the time to follow through in a sincere and genuine way, are the companies i will go back to time and time again.....
