WOOOHOOO!!! I'm jealous. Definitely one of my next mods...Nice choice. I hope you are happy with them!! :worthy:
Thank You, I feel stongly that I will be very happy, I wished they were being installed tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice looking pieces! I don't think I'd want to install them right away. I'd want to leave them on the table for a day or two so I could just sit there and look at them.
You know what is funny is that after I took the pictures I boxed them up for fear of kids getting at them and know I want to unpack them to stare at them
Look nice. Pretty soon, there will be a good number of heads/cam Jeeps running around (including mine). It will be interesting to see which combinations lay down the best performance numbers.
Agreed Patrick....................and, One thing is for sure though, no matter which package lays down the best numbers there is going to be alot of 5000lb SUV's clocking some impressive times and breaking alot of hearts!:good:
I went with the 260 XFI, I thought it was going to be too small but after comparing it to the 268 the numbers were very close it didn't make as much peak HP as the 268 or 273 but the HP/TQ for the 260 was never in the negatives from 1000rpm to 6000rpm when I was comparing a test on all 3 cams. I thought it would be a "hot" enough cam to complement the Mondello heads to help give me more grunt out of the hole and still allow good idle and drivability.
Chris, you hit the nail on the head, not too crazy with the need for a converter but a good complement over the stock cam. I want to keep the truck as reliable/functional as possible since it is my DD. Plus the racing I do is basically (check the link in my Sig) legal street racing which I think this cam should shine for. There was a guy on YouTube who installed a 260 in his hemi 5.7 truck and had sound clips and the idle had just enough lope to tell but idled great.
5.7 to 6.1 isn't much, so that would be minor. Probably not a whole lot different than Steve using a 268 in a 426. My I-Charger cam for the 426 is huge.
