Just tell her between all my clubs that were custom made for me, my bag, shoes, balls, gloves, and all that...i have well over $3,000 worth of golf stuff... then in a few years...ill want and need all new stuff... all for hitting a little ball into a hole haha all those other things are good too...you left out whores though hahahahaha:thumb2:
Here's the solution for all you pussy-whipped guys jonesing for mods this Christmas. Check out PPP's Holiday Specials (which include a free Moddin' Art DVD.) Tell the love of your life that you're gonna get her a VERY SPECIAL DVD this Christmas, for being such a great missus! :bigwink:
ummmmm....yeah......i am sure that is what is on when the "movies" end.......hehehehehehe  ozzie - i would love to see the look on momos wifes face if he did this...... heck, my wife is pretty good about dealing with me and my car obsession, but would probably not be too thrilled with me if i dropped that list on her!!! hahahahaha
Read it. As was I!!! I managed to accomplish this BEFORE I owned the Charger!!! I got the same question... as if she didn't know! Milan, I feel the pain. My wife is anti-mod to begin with. I told her, "once I get the car, I'll be satisfied...". She knew better and said "you'll want mods". I retorted with: "But I won't bug you about them for a long time". Long story short... I got my used Zoomers and Mopar CAI within a couple months... and I drove her to the point that she pissed me off so bad that I nearly put the car up for sale because I couldn't handle the nagging and anit-SRT8 attitude anymore. Rick had to talk me down from the ledge of oblivion. I stopped talking car stuff to her and stopped spending all waking hours on the forums. Things improved. Now, I THINK I've found a happy medium that leans in my favor a bit.
momo - first, congrats on finding the middle ground with the wife..... second, congrats on YOU using the multi quote option...... hehehehehehe
Chris... I just took a look at post counts... how the hell do you have nearly double of what I've got?!?! Seriously. You're a sick, sick man.
Curtis, Milan asked me to take you up on that dinner for him. He said just send the cash to Jason. Really, that's what he said. Now, don't ignore him.
thats why you need to be like me and have nothing else to do or worry about besides the SRT and work hahahaha... i gotta play now before im married haha
I PM'd Curtis back on this one...this guys has been super-cool from the get-go and he did help put things in perspective with the analogy. Like I said C, I don't think I'll ever forget that one...fertilized, watered and weeded. L. M. A. O. but oh so true. I really was "half-joking" that is, ya she has complained that it seems like I only talk about my car or what I want next and asked, "Are u talking to your 'peeps' on the forum again"? hehehe. But she's really cool. I wish you guys could meet her. And Jason (momo) and the others, I feel ya bros. It can be cumbersome defending something that really could better be spent elsewhere like say "Retirement planning" or "Help Feed the Children" or whatever....but my younger brother died almost 4 years ago now of a rare cancer. Top-notch physical condition....27 years old..fiance, engineering job, paid for lot to build home, new Monte Carlo SS, and a hefty retirement fund and pension to boot...all taken away within 10 mths. I miss him a lot. My wife understands this because she was by our side every minute of the way. She KNOWS firsthand how quickly we can be her and gone...like that. She told me...if we can afford it. I mean reasonably afford it...we should buy it. Whatever. I mean, common sense dictates, you must save and plan, but if you don't use that earned cash....WTF you gonna do with it when you're gone. So, we save, and we pay bills like anyone else but ya need to have fun too....and sometimes she forgets this because she is more conservative money-wise than me lol...its the beauty of it too though..we balance out. Anyways, sorry for the rant but Curtis helped me just keep an eye on it. Thanks C. And like I told ya, we'll save the dinner for when we meet halfway between Chitown and Deeetroit...lol..but I'll need um....6 cars K??
People in general who don't share the same passion as we do will never understand! My wife will never have enough shoes, make-up, hair products (I don't have to worry about this one), clothing, manicures and pedicures. Even though I don't get in her KOOLAID to the degree she gets in mine we do share a passion, but for different things. For me the kids are the mod KILLER and by no means am I complaining about it. The kids are first most of the time. Finding the middle ground is hard, but as soon as you find it, tear that chit up boy with mods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your family, health and friends are the most important things in life. :muscle:
This is the first rational thing you've ever said. My God, you are human! LMAO! I agree 100 percent, Ryan.
I am sorry to hear this. I lost my Dad December 3, 2006 from cancer too. He was in the process of selling his business to retire, age 64, when he was diagnosed. 5 months later he passed. Dedicated his life to family, built a home, the whole 9 yards... never got a chance to kick back and enjoy life after working since age 15. Like your experience, my Dad's passing left a major mark on me... you don't know when its your time, so enjoy life now, within reason, to its fullest. That's why I want to enjoy my car now, rather than later.
Let's see, no more track events or road trips or mods or Challenger for the foreseeable future. At least that's what I'm currently giving up for the sake of this kid I'm carrying and the hopes of getting a house to raise it in. Marc's been relatively supportive with all my car stuff, still doesn't really understand it but still supportive, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant, all bets were off. Ah well, my baby weight will just make the car slower anyway.
NOTHING is more true. Our little girl gets what she needs and more....the grandparents (especially my fam since it's there first) spoil the cr** out of her and then send her home Funny you bring this up cause I was talking to Jason (SRT8bby) abou this yesterday morning through PMs and I told him the cheesy line I gave my wife a couple times....heard it somewhere...."Hun, listen....when I'm old and weary, I don't want to remember what 'dreams' I had in life...I want to remember what experiences I enjoyed.." LOL or something like that...ya had to be there LMAO...I tried to keep a straight face..and she laughed but it still hit home for some reason...haha Same here Rick with a nice balance between here and now and our future together...And, yes the loss of my brother devastated us...toughest thing I ever experienced. Only had one sibling. Truly treat your bro and fam like they may go within the year...if you keep this little thought in the back of your mind...you'll never be disappointed. Thanks, what an insightful thread this turned out to be for me! You're all my PEEPS lol!! Think I'm going for a quick jaunt in the ride...sun's out...nice day...no clouds this morning....it's fricken freezing though lol 35* out....ESP ON then lol...:thumb2::beer:
milan - thanks for this thread...... it has put perspective in our minds and shown what some of our members are really like as people...........kudos to you all!!!
LOL...every time a box is delivered by UPS or FedEx for me at the house, wife always asks "What is it this time?" I knew it was gonna be a long running story when she remarked, on the day I brought my CSRT8 home, "You're spoiled!" I immediately replied, "Yeah? So what's your point?" LMAO But she's been through this with me since we were married, 18 years ago tomorrow, on various cars and trucks. I think she just says things like that to keep in practice and for no other reason at this late date. She realizes it's a lost cause... hehehehehe...
michael, let me be the first on the C to say happy anniversary!!!! you are lucky to have a wife so understanding, or patient, which ever one!!! hahahahaa mine is getting much better about just coming to the realization that my mods come out of my little slush fund and that iwould never ever touch the family finances to do anything!!! that, and when i am modding, i am happy, which makes her happy!!!! hehehehehe
Saw this on a t-shirt the other day: "If it has wheels or a skirt, you're gonna have problems." (next to a picture of a smokin-hot woman with a tiny little skirt - pretty cool shirt) Looks like we have both and all of the problems that go along with them. All I can say is that your wives are much smarter than mine or you guys are terrible at keeping a secret (even between you and yourself). My old lady has no idea of what the car cost to begin with. She would crap herself if she did. To her, aside from the powdercoated wheels, it looks just like it did when I brought it home. How do your wives know that you have heads, cam, coilovers, sways, quaife, exhaust, HD half-shafts, CAI, sits 2" lower, etc? That sh!t is invisible to most women, isn't it?. You guys have to be leaking your own secrets. Its like, "What do you mean it sounds different honey? That's just how it sounds as it gets broken in. It will probaly change a little more over time." She has no interest at all in getting on the computer, especially to read what some other morons like me are saying about their cars. Let's keep it that way, I don't want you guys leaking out my secrets too. Oh yeah, I went to the dealer today to talk about ordering a Challenger (that's our secret and a subject for another thread).
