This is perfect timing for me...

I can't wait to see what happens and I hope that you guys can get a set of the Mopar heads as well... but if not that is cool...

Thanks for doing this... cause I am in the market to buy a set around Xmas time.

Monday morning Trojan will have the PPP heads installed and we will be writing the custom 392 tune to his vehicle, that will be used for all the other cylinder heads. We are pretty happy about the HHP Stage III camshaft that we are now going to use instead of the Tombhawk "R.I.P.". Hopefully by late tomorrow we will be able to post some nice numbers....Stay tuned.

Does anyone ever use GSM heads? The norm I've noticed on the forums is PPP, PR&D, HHP and FRI. If GSM is in there I'll call them tomorrow. I won't the test to be as conclusive as can be.

So its one tune for all of them? I think this would be an advantage to the PPP heads since they will be tuned to optimum...

I think they are adjusting the tune for each head, but there really shouldnt be much difference in the tunes. The car is up and running, we should have dyno results tomorrow.

Is the HHP cam designed to operate at 7K? With tuning now, we'll all be working our way up the RPM range.

Cars together, we are running .030 longer pushrods. Valve train noise is almost completely gone.

We are now running 39 lbs injectors ( so happy now) that have been scaled. Car starts up and enters O2 sensor feedback just after OL startup perfectly. Today is VE tuning day and we should be able to get her strapped down on the dyno a little later today to check some targeted AFR under WOT.

This tune that we are doing is not going to be benefiting on shops set of heads over another. Here's why. WOT runs are nothing more than how fast can I get the motor to spin (engine rpm) vs time. Given that timing is relative to all the cylinder heads and commanded afr is 12.8:1 everyone is on the same playing field. Now if I start giving company A more timing in the midrange by 1 degree than company B, I've just tainted my results and this is unfair to everyone. If I get a near perfect tune with the PPP heads and the HHP Stg III camshaft I'm certain that the other companies will not object that this tune is favoring another. Tests are about removing variables, keeping one tune for all is what has to be done.

the mopar 392 heads are ported 6.1 heads and will not work with the 5.7 intake manifold. The combustion chamber is also smaller than a 5.7 head causing an unsafe compression ratio of about 11:1. for a fair test, you would want the ported 5.7 heads from mopar, not the 6.1/392 head.

Ah...well you may ask, young seeker of truth, however ......

    When the question is common
    The answer is also common.
When the question is sand in a bowl of boiled rice
The answer is a stick in the soft mud.
