Results from 1/8 mile track with NOS (100 shot). Temp around 72 and elevation 800ft or so. Light wind. First ever taste of the sauce. Best run - 60' - 1.6949, 7.7688 @ 88.62 Next best - 60' - 1.7030, 7.7740 @ 89.10 It is fun running with the NOS because you really have to work much harder on your launch. My 2nd NOS run I just slammed it down and it kicked sideways big time at launch. 1.76 60' that run. Something was weird last night with the Jeep. Running NA with my B&G NOS tune, I only ran 8.22's with 1.85 60'. I was a constant and consistent 8.12 w/ 1.76 60' for probably 40 runs last summer when it was hotter and much more humid with the same mods except for the NOS tune. Forgot to bring the Predator to swap tunes. Anyone have any advice on things to check...I seem to be falling back without the help from the juice and my results overall don't come close to others. Go Mods: P/P DR Heads, Comp 268 cam, Kooks LT w/high flow cats, Volant CAI, B&B Catback, 180 t-stat, Iridium plugs, B&G tune
Nice job! That's almost an 11 second Jeep. Probably looking at 12.1xx in the 1/4 mile on those runs. Use the 100 shot fuel, and the 125 shot nitrous (assuming you're too rich) and you will hit 11.9xx.
Nice runs! Your nitrous tune will have your timing reduced to account for the juice (bigger bang/degree of timing). So when you run it NA, you'll be slower. If you plan on running NA too, try putting your old tune back in.
Perfect!!!! Don't go for a bigger N20 jet without a bigger fuel jet. That AFR is right where you want it. Good power, but reasonably safe.
Excellent runs on the juice I bet if you were down here in Texas on a cool evening you could hit 7.9 easily with your N/A mods so don't be discouraged as its proven time, temp and location can make a hughe difference
Whoa...just rechecking my data logs from the LM-1 and those A/F are NA not NOS. Looks like I got down to the low 10's high 9's on the bottle. Hummmm...that is too rich, correct?
Yup. Big time bro. You have the same mods as me. I'm running 7.8's NA in the eigth. Havent run with juice yet though. On bottle look for 11.9-12.4.
Yeah you have tons more power being held back either get back with your tuner or pull some fuel yourself VIA the Diablo but be careful just do it at .5 per RPM table and do a run or two and check and keep doing .5 until its dialed in correctly
Getting the fuel leaned out to upper 11s and low 12:1 with 0 knock retard took lots of tuning on the dyno for me, but it got me 7.90s in the 1/8th. Get yours leaner and enjoy the faster ETs. Too much fuel will hurt you more than not enough timing. FWIW, my timing is between 18-21 degrees during my runs, but I have 0 KR and my A/F is now really stable.
Hmm thats kinda what I figured since I see the exact same numbers both NA and on the spray. The AF is perfect until you spray then it goes into the 10s. I dropped down 4 fuel jets sizes and I was still around 10.5:1 and then my bottle pressure got down around 750-800 which didnt help. I need another full bottle and 900-950psi that will probably bring it up to about 11:1 then I can drop 1-2 more fuel jet sizes and be set. You probably lost 40-50hp with an AF like that.
Guys, don't forget, if the PCM detects a significant amount of knock, it will start dumping fuel (richening the mixture) to protect the engine. So unless you have knock under control, it may be an exercise in futility trying to lean out the A/F ratio.
Yes that is correct and in my case has been accounted for with 6 degrees of timing pulled and running 104 octane fuel. My KR has never seen anything over 0.
Thanks for all the input. Let the dialing-in begin...I guess this means I'll have to head back to the track. Research, the research must be done.
Made a few WOT's with NOS to check for KR this morning. This is with 93 oct pump gas and the B&G NOS tune and 100 shot. Thoughts on getting it down? I'm sure this is helping cause my A/F to get down to the low 10's as posted above.
