So I am coming home about 20 minutes ago and I see this vette pulling out of a nice gated community and notice its a Z.....at this point I'm like sweeeeet. There is a traffic light about another mile up the road but it is always full of cars and I somehow always manage to get a green. I am praying for a red with no cars, so as I approach its still green...$hit, come on. The Z is catching up to me since I slowed down to like 30 and BAM...light turns red and he pulls up next to me. This is the point I finally start getting butterflies from the excitement....I throw it in neutral and rev just to make sure he knows this big red juicebox next to him is calling him out:guns: He flashes his lights and I take that as him saying "its on". So we sit there and I hear him holding the rpm up a tad...maybe 1500rpm and I just sit there idling with my left foot on the brake and right hovering over the gas pedal. Light turns green and I freakin put my foot through the floor and the tires chirp a bit and I'm off like a rocket. By the time I shifted into second it looked like he was still sitting in the same place...I held it WOT into 3rd and let off and he was 2 bus lengths behind me. I was like wtf he didnt even try or else he was completely sleeping. There wasnt many cars on the road with us by this time and I slowed down to about 30 again and he would not come up next to me:novote:...finally he sped up a little and got closer and we hit another light but with lots of cars. He sat right off to the rear corner of me I guess checking out the rig and trying to figure out what it was. Light turns green and we all start going and most of the cars clear out in front of us. My turn is coming up in a few more block so I slow down again and he finally comes up next to me at about 45 and I figure he wants to roll race where he is in his element. He is next to me for no longer than 10 seconds while I am contemplating flipping the switch for the juice and running him from a roll when out of nowhere he just nails it and takes off.....I'm like wtf buddy??? ever heard of 3 honks or flash your lights...guess not. I was at my turn and decided he wasnt a good candidate for wasting my juice:novote: It was cool though. I'm sure he'll be on the vette forum later telling them how he had a jeep try to race him and it took off like a rocket:surprise:
That is the upscale equivelent of the "Ricer Flyby". Was it a C5 Z06?? or a C6...cause if was a C6...he wasn't really trying....
Great Kill Chris. these Jeeps are so cool. Nobody knows what we have and they take us for a nothing more than a pimp'd out Cherokee. Then when you drop the wood they are like WTF ? I have yet to need the juice from a stop, I have needed it from a high speed roll which is where most these sorry street racers wanna go from.
Oh yeah forgot to mention but it was a black C6 Z06 with chrome wheels and the license plate said ZE YALL. I should have rolled my window down and yelled ZE WHO?:thongue2:
I beleive you that his Jeep is one bad-ass ride.... But I just can't see a C6 Z06 losing to it.... According to your mod list (which is probably incomplete in your siggy) your rolling with nitrous and a predator.....and by your own account, you didn't use the nitrous. Forgive me for thinking that the Jeep (which weighs a full 2000 pounds more) could not out-run the C6. I don't think he was trying very hard, thats all.

Agreed! Not trying to be a smart alleck but I also raced one this past summer from a dig at the 1/8th mile grudge races and I got my doors blown off....(2 car lengths by 90....I wished 3rd gear pulled like 1st & 2nd). The C6 ZO6 is the "real" deal and the only car I would dump the jeep for. I always say it's one thing to own a fast car and it is another thing knowing how to drive it. When you step into the ring a fight is a fight. So that is a definitely a kill! Nice work.

I can never tell the difference between the vettes I have slain a few C5 at the track but never on the road how can you tell a Z06 from a C5 just by looking at it??? BTW good kill.
The Z06 is wider, has a hood inlet, different rims, the front fascia is slightly different...and a few other things besides the small badges.
I always look for the wheels. Some C6 guys put Z06 wheels on them though so then you have to look for the hood vent and rear fender vents.
This is a C6 Z06....like he said...note the side vents right behind the doors and the hood scoop. And the badging... This is a C5 Z06...the big give away is the black vents just in front of the rear wheels....and of course, the badging.
