Ever drop an SRT-4 fuel tank with 1/2 tank of gas in it by yourself in your driveway?

Lol, I did today. It was on my wife's s3r SRT-4. We were upgrading the fuel pump from the s3 pump to a Walbro 255. I did 99% of the work. My wife helped me pull apart the canister and just hold one side of the gas tank when I was putting the tank back up.

Here's pics of the rear end lifted with the gas tank on the driveway:

Amongst other things today I also installed the DCR oil modifier and did a boost leak test.

Here's a pic of the engine bay, boost leak test done... tester still on the turbo and started putting some parts back on that I took off to do the DCR oil modifier:

You don't have to pull the entire tank to change a pump, BTW.....

But kudo's for going the extra mile :thumb:

Its easier to drop the whole tank. This is the 5th fuel pump I've done on these cars. If you angle the tank downwards to change it while on the car all the fuel will come at you. Especially in this case when the tank had 1/2 of tank of gas in it. Not to mention if you have it angled your pretty much working on your back or just too low to the ground for comfort and assurability. Your safer dropping the whole tank. Not to mention the fact its easier to work with it out of the car. Also it makes it easier to put the lock ring back on. You also still keep gas in your gas tank and can drive to get it refilled instead of starving the new pump.

    Thanks :good:

Lol, yeah if I have help through the whole install it usually takes me 40 minutes to do. I didn't want to get Cheryl involved through the whole install, she's doing stuff around the house and she was at stores while I was doing it. She helps when I ask her to so its cool!

You guys got to work on your thread titles... First thing that came to mind was lugging it across the driveway and ... whoopsie. I was expecting pics of a cracked gas tank and the hazmat unit at the house.

Well after completing the installs I went and put gas in her car. Got home and decided to snap (2) pics of both our SRT-4's. Her's on the left and mine on the right.

Ah crap! Must of been the gas fumes or just being so tired I read his post wrong. Good catch!

My car is lower then her's but her's rides better. I have Eibach Sportlines and she has Eibach Pro-kits.

Lol, we don't run eachother. She would be wasting gas if she was to run my slow SRT-4.

Cars look good. How much trouble is the DCR modifier to install? Pretty quick?
