I am pondering getting my wheels black chromed witrh the outer rim painted to match the car. Now the issue... My SRT8 wheels have a small amount of "curb rash" on a couple of the rims less about 1" long in about 3 places on only 2 rims. It bugs me to spend this money and start out with dings in the edge of the rim. Can this be fixed easier than filling in the dings by welding and then grinding smooth? Or is this the choice I have to make? Does anybody know a place in SoCal that does this type of repair? If I have to ship them around I might as well buy a set or send them to WeldCraft to get them extended to 10.5" + they repair probably.
I think he means the outer rim that I want to paint the color of my car. Sticker? On a wheel? I don't think they would last long and wouldn't look right on the edge of the wheel cause it curves in a little. The curb rash is really light like the roughness of a fine file. I just barely rubbed the curb.
well they done a few high end cars...seems to stick just fine....i had curb rash on some old wheels when i got em pouder coated they filed em down before it went off to paint..
I found a link to curb rash repair that seems to work even on curb rash worse than mine. See pics. http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87002&highlight=rash
