You read the title correct... I have a transmission leak. Went out and bought some 0W-40, and decided this time to take it to a 'quicklube' place to have the deed done. *I noticed a small splotch of reddish fluid on the garage floor a few days back... checked the power steering fluid, and it appeared tiny bit low... so, figured that was the culprit. Pull into the oil change place and after answering 1000 questions about the mighty SRT8, told the guys to check for a power steering fluid leak while they were under there. Well... its the 'main seal' on the tranny that is leaking! WTF?!?! Anyone else have this problem? What could have caused it? Why don't we have a tranny dipstick for just such a scenario?!?!
Main seal? You sure? There's the TSB tranny leak at the O ring. It's not that? You can get a tranny dip stick ... for about $70. You could call it a mod and bump your mod count. tinted windows, DIP STICK. Main seal sounds bad and I've not heard that one yet.
Most Nag Transmission Have Had This Problem Just Get Your Car To Me And Lets Get It Fixed. And Please Tell Me Stories About Your Mighty Srt8.
Mine was leaking about 2 weeks before the Spring Festival. Took it in to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty. It was leaking from where the wiring goes in to the transmission. The service manager was great and didn't even give me any crap about all my mods.

...and it's always a good idea to get a second opinion on the Jiffy Lube prognosis. I just had some guy fix the fence. Said he could do anything if I had any more work. I can give him a call to look at it for you.

Exactly, Jason...have you been mentally absent for the last year and some months??? I mean, this has been beaten to death. Don't listen to the f***sticks at Jiffylube or whatever...it's the o-ring. Nothing else. Half hour fix and put it behind you. I was praying for mine to go in my garage and not somewhere out on the road. And Dave, wth man? LOL...now you have him more worried than a gerbil trying to escape from Gere's ass before the oxygen runs out. lol.
Never had that shift problem, but I've got a lot of brake dust, my rotors are grooved, the brakes squeak, and I disconnected my battery and now my window won't "auto up" or "auto down" anymore. Anyone ever heard of these issues?
^^^ Those are all news to me!l. I also keep hearing a thumpity thump "heartbeat-like" sound when the car is shut off. Sounds like it may be coming from the back.
Tranny's fine but I've noticed a "cottage cheese" like substance building up in my coolant resevoir, anyone experience this? (Sorry, Jason, had to get that in, lol) Ironically, I had my TSB performed only last week after most of the fluid must have spewed out over the winter...it was slipping like an SOB when cold (2500-3000 rpm first gear starts, not ideal) so I limped it into the dealer. They're also replacing my tire inflator which calfed after about 10 mintutes use recently (just got the doll full).
Damn Jason I wouldn't take this shit if I were you man. Especially from these inconsiderate assholes. BTW I sometimes have a slight "tick" sound coming from my motor sometimes. Anyone else heard this?

Wait let me "HELP" you even though it is the weekend. In the red banner their is a "SEARCH" icon with two (2) little arrows next to it. If you click on that it will pull up a window that allows you to type in a search, oh let's use "TRANSMISSION LEAK" for example. Then all the post related to "TRANSMISSION LEAK" will come up for you to reseach. If you want Rick, Drew, myself, Moe or Luis can help you out. The only thing is Luis's keyboard is in Spanish and Moe's keyboard is in Jivetalk, so maybe stick to Rick, Drew or myself. :thongue2::whistle:

Hey Bud, I can arrange for the dealership to flash his PCM while the car is in and brick his Predator if you want... Oh, and I have a clunk in my front suspension when going over washboard type surfaces. Has anyone heard of this?
