Always forward as much of the email as you can (They like to have the full header, but a lot of email websites don't include it in a forward) to this address:

    [email protected]

These are phishing attacks meant to collect personal information and ultimately steal your identity.

I hate PayPal, but they would never contact you in this way to get information.

    good catch!

Markus, I say you keep trying to give them your personal information until you succeed. That way, you'll be 100% sure that everything is taken care of.

I don't know... just because ONE letter was off in the email address?!?! I don't think that's reason for concern... Markus, I'd also send your social security number and your drivers license number so that they can verify your identity in case someone is trying to scam you.

Yeah, the saddest thing is that these (usually Nigerian) morons tend to go after elderly Americans with more specific goals in mind... usually promising an awesome return on an investment, topped off with a good looking guy/gal in an email attachment that promises friendship and/or lovin' to a lonely older person.

Yea bro paypal will tell you they NEVER ask for this shiat, it's always a scammer. Same with ebay. Whatever you do with this kind of stuff NEVER click on any link they provide, EVER!! No matter who sent it to you, you're done if you do. Everytime I get something like this I'll go log onto my account and check my info there. Everytime so far it's been a scam. I've reported I don't know how many to paypal and a few to ebay too over the years. Be carefull out there!
