So I got my pillar gauges and one of the ones I decided on was the Trans Temp gauge. Now, its bad enough that i even have to ask this stupid question...but what would be a high, normal, and low running temp for the trans to run at (be it on the track or during normal every day driving)... at least if i know this...i wont feel like a total jackass for having the gauge...and it might actually have some use haha thank you all... hahaha
yeah i just want to have some knowledge of what i am looking at haha...so that in the event that someone asks im not like DEERRR IT LOOKS COOL hahaha

ooooooooo, now that was just low......... i would have at least pontificated about what the numbers should be by actually spouting off an actual temp, and then acted as if i was the foremost expert and should not be questioned...... oh wait, that is someone else...... hahahahahaha :whistle:

I seem to remember someone saying something like 220 is too hot to be running a trans at? Not like it's going to go up in a ball of flame or anything but that you want it to be running cooler than that. I think mine generally runs around 170? and gets to 200? I really don't pay attention to it. You should rename the thread title to "Trans Temp?" and you'd probably get a lot more response.
I recall seeing somewhere that you can expect an average transmission temp of around 20 degrees less than your engine temp. under normal driving conditions.
