SRTConnection.com – Forum Terms of Service (TOS)

These are the codes of conduct and rules of the SRTConnection.com (hereafter SRT/C) Forum. Please note that the SRT/C Administration reserves the right to amend, clarify, or add to these rules as needed.

Please direct all questions regarding the SRT/C forum rules and regulations to the administration.

    I. The Administration / Moderation Team
As a note to all users, please understand that the moderators of SRT/C are all community volunteers. These are unpaid positions that certain members have had bestowed upon them in an effort to keep the SRT/C forums productive, properly informed, and above all else, positive in nature.

    II. Unacceptable Posts
Moderators of SRT/C reserve the right to make edits or comments within posts which contain unacceptable descriptions or content. Removal of unacceptable material may occur without warning. Warnings and or temporary banishment (“ban”) from the SRT/C forum may also occur.

Disciplinary action due to an infraction will be weighted against a user’s disciplinary record. SRT/C user attitude and further action following unacceptable post infractions will also be considered when further action must be taken by the SRT/C moderation team.

In instances where an individual has multiple accounts, related posts from the second account may be considered in regard to disciplinary action for a post from the first account. Generally, repeated unacceptable posting will result in warnings, then temporary forum bans of escalating duration. Repeated temporary bans will result in a permanent ban from SRT/C forum and chat room usage.

    III. Removal of Moderator Comments
Do NOT edit or remove Moderator comments within posts. Said comments are intended to implement the SRT/C forum rules. Violations may result in disciplinary action from the Moderation team.

IV. Quoting Unacceptable Content or Threads
Do NOT quote content of other posts which violate the rules of SRT/C. Do NOT repost threads that have been locked or deleted. Do NOT repost content that has been edited or deleted by the Moderators.

    V. Posting in Appropriate Forum Locations
In an effort to keep SRT/C orderly, please post threads in their appropriate forums. Please do NOT post duplicate content within multiple forums (“cross-posting”) on SRT/C.

Threads in improper locations may be moved by SRT/C Moderation staff without member notification.

    VI. SRTConnection.com Forum Technical Support
Technical Support questions for SRT/C should be posted in the Member Feedback (http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8) section of SRT/C. There is no one that knows what the members want out of a forum better than the members!

    VII. “Flaming” of Other Users
“Flaming,” defined as hostile and/or insulting interaction between Internet or forum users, will NOT be tolerated. Do not post links in which content contains multiple “flame” attacks upon other members. Posts within a discussion or thread on SRT/C should be focused on topic, not on individual members within said thread.

“Flame” posts or content are defined as hostile or negative posts directed at:
    - Individual SRT/C members
    - Supporting Vendors of SRT/C
    - Moderators or Administrators of SRT/C
    - SRTConnection.com as a whole

    VIII. Unwanted Advertisements or “Spam”
Do NOT use the SRT/C forum in connection with any surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, chain letters, junk email, spamming or any duplicative or unsolicited messages (commercial or otherwise).

IX. Inappropriate language, racism, and hate speech
In an attempt to keep SRT/C as family friendly as possible, all members should keep a maximum of a “PG-13” rating when posting content within general SRT/C forums. This includes, but is not limited to:
    - Written words
    - Images
    - User signature (text or imagery)

SRT/C members are encouraged to report violations of SRT/C rules to the Moderating team, particularly when there are violations in the general forum area, including:
    - Inappropriate language
    - Inappropriate nudity
    - Excessive sexual innuendo
    - Racial slurs
    - Ethnic slurs
    - Religious slurs
    - National slurs
    - Hate language

The VIP Lounge and Supporting Members section have their own rules and are governed separately from SRT/C.

    X. Defamation and/or Harassment
Do NOT use the SRT/C forums to post content that would defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten, or otherwise violate the legal rights, both private and public, of other SRT/C members or the Moderation team

Do not post, publish, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information.

    XI. Private Messages
Private Messages (“PM’s”) are, as the name suggests, private. Do NOT repost private E-mails or PM’s without the participant’s expressed written permission.

XII. Linking to Hazardous Software and/or Viruses
Do NOT post directly, or post links to, any site that contains either content of, or other links to, files, programs, and/or software that could harm SRT/C user computers. This does include “crash me” or “Rick Rolled” style sites. Subjecting another member to such computer issues will result in an immediate banning from SRT/C.

XIII. Copyrighted Material and Pirated Software
SRT/C does not condone the sale or distribution of pirated software, or “warez”, as it is known. Do NOT arrange for the exchange of pirated software, other copyrighted content or other illegal items or substances while using the SRT/C forum or FlashChat chat room. This also includes links to any site that contains either content of, or other links to, pirated software or other illegal items or substances.

Please see the rules for the SRTConnection.com Classifieds for more information.

    XIV. Advertisement and Supporting Vendors
Do NOT advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose on SRT/C. Supporting Vendor status is available to those who would like to promote their businesses and use the SRT/C as an outlet for said business. Please contact SRT/C Administrators for more information on Supporting Vendor status.

    XV. SRT/C Member Privacy
Do NOT harvest or collect information about SRT/C members. This includes any E-mail address, phone number, or IP address publicly posted. Any violation that occurs due to harvesting of information via SRT/C will result in permanent banishment from the SRT/C forums.

    XVI. Test Posts
Do not waste bandwidth with “test” posts. Post content proper to current discussions and observe the changes you have made to your own account.

    XVII. Signature Images and Avatars
As of the writing of these rules, there is no limit on signature image height and width, but there is a limit on overall size. No larger than 25KB. Rotating signature pictures are allowed, but please follow the 25KB size limit (The rotating pictures eat up bandwidth and effect the over all performance of the forum as a whole). Please note, the SRT/C Moderation team will take action if the unlimited size limit is abused within the forum. Multiple images are in a signature, when taken as a whole, may not exceed the limit set by SRT/C staff members at that time for a single image.

All avatars are limited to 100 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall. All avatars must fall within the guidelines above for forum appropriate imagery. Any avatars that are deemed inappropriate by the SRT/C Moderation staff will be removed immediately without warning.

    XVIII. Names in signature
ALL members are REQUIRED to have their first name, not screen name, in their signature either legibly embedded in their signature image, or typed out in plain text.

    XIX. Usage of SRTConnection.com FlashChat
Usage of the SRTConnection.com FlashChat is FREE to ALL members of SRT/C. As it is a LIVE chat room, it is nearly impossible for SRT/C Moderators to monitor the chat every moment of the day. With that said, enter the chat room at your own risk.

Notice to all members please read this and check for compliance.

Now that we have this nice clean new database lets all take responsibility to allow for the site to function at the top of its capabilities for ALL members, not just ourselves.

    Thanks
