I got the VIP tour today. Sean's a great guy. Their operation is going to be incredible. They can take a dinner napkin idea and take it to the final product all in house.
And yes, they are signing up as a vendor here as soon as Sean and Ron can hook up on the phone.
They are even interested in doing Chat Sessions with us.
They are in Anaheim.

1st Official SRTConnection.com Photo Contest
Photo Contest Rules
Eligibility
This contest is open to all “active” members (minimum of 1 post/day) of the SRTConnection. All photos must be submitted by August 31st, 2008.
Theme
The first official photo contest theme will be left to the participants to decide what works best. Submitted photos will be judged by the membership of the SRTConnection based on creativity, originality, level of difficulty, composition and blah blah blah. The winner of the photo contest will have the option to decide the theme for the upcoming contest.
Photo Submission:
1. You are allowed to submit up to 3 photos (1 is fine) which must include your ride. It does not have to be an SRT model. (We got nothing but mad love for all our peeps, lol).
2. You must submit a photograph(s) taken just for this contest and by YOU. Old photos and glamour shots will not be suitable here.
3. Maximum photo size will be 1024 x 768. Images larger then this will not be eligible unless resized. We can help you size your photo if needed. (Just PM me)!
4. Photoshopping is allowed only for cropping or resizing, brightness/contrast and altering your license plate. It must not be a photo that has been copied or reproduced from a third party source.
5. All submissions should be posted in this thread by August 31st, 2008. When the contest closes, we will open a new thread with a poll for voting. 3 finalists will be selected but only one will be the winner.
Prizes:
1. Gift Certificate from one of our fine supporting vendors. RDP Motorsport and Southern Hotrod will be offering some nice prizes for the winners. These will be announced shortly.
2. A Custom SRTC T-Shirt designed for the winner of the photo contest featuring his/her ride on the back and the SRTC Logo on the front. The design of the Tee will incorporate the winner’s suggestions.
3. An upgraded SRTConnection.com Membership and access to “Premium Member” forums.

For those that don't know, I'm a fixed operations (parts and service) consultant for car dealerships. Been doing it since 1981.
Our industry works pretty good most of the time, but we are loosey goosey, and sometime work with gentlemens agreements.

California BAR requires a written estimate on service work. Any change needs an approval in person or by phone. The vendor is required to put the time, date, and the revised amount. The price can’t be changed from a complete original estimate for any reason, including tax, if it included tax. So a vender has to state if the estimate includes tax or not. Can’t be even a penny over the estimate, the rumor of 10% over is OK, is false. The supplemental increase for more parts or labor is the only reason for a revised estimate. Never sign a blank repair order.
I, myself would require an email stating the changes in price for additional parts and labor, not a change in the original estimate.
If I was a vendor, I would want my customer to approve the increase in cost for parts and or labor. We have email now. Send the customer an email laying out the increase in cost, have him respond to the email authorizing the increase from the estimate.
So, if you take your car to a shop in CA. Three things need to happen. The vendor is required to open a repair order for the job. You must sign it, authorize the repair, and be given a copy of the repair order. If the estimate can't be given at that time, it should be noted that the estimate will follow. If there is an estimate fee for tear down, and the customer declines, he will have to pay the tear down fee he authorized. The tear down fee must include the labor to put it back together in case you decline to work.
Most states have similar laws to protect customers and vendors similar to California.
These laws are there to protect both vendors/dealers and their customers.
